Both new members and forum veterans, please be aware of the standards of this forum. Please take a read through our Forum Rules. Make sure you understand them, and that you follow them. The essence of the rules can be summed up in two simple points:
In addition to the general forum rules, please be aware of the following forum-specific rules:
From time to time there may be additional rules specific to this forum, and they will be posted in this thread, so please keep an eye out for new posts here.
- Be nice to others.
- Don't not be nice to others.
In addition to the general forum rules, please be aware of the following forum-specific rules:
- As this is the Civilization: Beyond Earth forum, your threads and posts must relate to Civilization: Beyond Earth. This means, for example, that threads solely complaining about Civ5 are not allowed, and will be treated as spam and/or trolling.
- This forum is not solely for players of Civ5; if you prefer Civ4 to Civ5, for example, you are certainly welcome to participate in discussion. Therefore, attempting to hound out those who aren't fans of Civ5 is not acceptable. People are welcome to share their opinions, so long as they do so within the scope of the forum rules.
- This is a discussion forum, and threads must therefore allow for discussion. Although negative opinions are allowed, threads that are simply complaints, without any question being posed for discussion, are not. In general, this means that an opening post should contain a non-rhetorical question. The presence of discussion does not absolve the thread creator if this discussion has arisen despite their opening post. Remember that starting a thread is an opportunity to converse with other members about an issue, and not to provide yourself with a soapbox from which to declare your thoughts, without any desire to hear the opinions of others.
- Deriding others through the use of terms such as 'hater', 'fanboy', or 'Steam Sunshine Squad', or accusing another member of being a shill for 2K or Firaxis, is not acceptable.
