Yeah, Amsterdam is a great idea

. I might even come though I'm actually from Lithuania. I should be all over around Europe next summer, and Netherlands could be in my plans.

Sure, come to Ashdod.

Is that the Israelian name for Amsterdam? Around here everyone says 'Mokum' is the Jewish name for Amsterdam. The people of Amsterdam see 'Mokum' as the name of honour, given to them by the Jews. And I do too! And so does AJAX!

Acctually Ashdod is a city in southwestern Israel. Originally settled by the seapeople group known as the Philistines, the same group that produced the giant Goliath of David and Goliath fame. How's that for some trivia.

Amsterdam might be a reasonable trans-atlantic flight for those who live in New York. But for those who live in the middle of nowhere, it would cost about $750 just to get to New York or Montreal, and then the airfare to cross the ocean.

I like you guys and all, but considering that I will be scraping money together just to buy Civ 3, that's a little too costly.

That's true. But it'll never be perfect, I'm afraid.

You know, yesterday I learned 'Mokum' comes straight from a Hebrewan word meaning 'place' (or town?). I also learned that a lot of Amsterdamish words are coming from Hebrewan words:

mazzel (luck, bye) - mazzeltov
afgepijgerd (f.e. after a sports match, a player is totally exausted) - the Hebrewan for 'corps' or 'dead body'

Uhh... no. "afgepijgerd" is not a word in Hebrew.

As you might've read, Pedro and I have also met, the 22nd of August. So I guess we're fourth.

And a meeting in Amsterdam would be cool. I'll definitely try to get there! But I must admit I won't go anywhere outside the Netherlands: that costs me too much and I'm a real low-budget guy.

You lucky ones!

I would be able to be there only if it was in Christmas....

Well, I can't organize everything on my own. A little more help from the Dutch side would be welcome.

Yeah. But we should first get the month, or even exact date. I don't want to miss it. I'll be in the U.S. next summer, the eastcoast (been to the westcoast in '97), and it would be weird to have fanatics in my homecity and me in the U.S.

I think it's too early too talk about the exact date. Lets talk about the month first. Even that is too early though as many of us haven't planned what they'll do next summer. (have we?)

A month? Ok! Say, August (somewhere in the first 3 weeks?)
