Civfanatics Survivor Challenge

Everyone -- to count, I must receive your choice of weapon by PM. Don't post it here, unless you are trying out some weird strategy.

If you don't send me the PM I can't count your weapon choice for this round.

how many weapons can we send you? And if so, do we have to tell you the order of the weapons?

You want everyone on your team to submit a weapon. Then I will tabulate the results and determine who has the most remaining.

In-depth example:

All potential attacks are resolved simultaneously, and the winner is the team that has the most surviving weapons.

Tribe A:
Spear
Spear
Shield
Sling

Tribe B:
Spear
Shield
Shield
Sling

Tribe A's Spears eliminate Tribe B's Shields
Tribe A's Shield eliminates Tribe B's Sling
Tribe A's Sling eliminates Tribe B's Spear

Simultaneously,
Tribe B's Spear eliminates Tribe A's Shield
Tribe B's Shields eliminate Tribe A's Sling
Tribe B's Sling eliminates one of Tribe A's Spears.

Tribe A is left with one weapon.
Tribe B is left with no weapons.

Tribe A wins.

EDIT: Fixed botched example... :o

No, I just think I'll be open about it, might as well.

Minor rules clarification -- the point of Survivor is the Vote, not the Immunity Challenge. In the event that the Immunity Challenge results in a tie I'll post the details of how this was determined and resolve the challenge with a coin toss. Your team can significantly influence the Immunity Challenge by participation and guessing well and perhaps developing a coordinated strategy for choosing your weapons, but all other factors being equal it will come down to random chance.

Here is a description of your weapon choices and an explanation for how each defeats -- and is defeated by -- the others.

Sling: a leather sling and stone. This weapon has the advantage of range, and can easily pick off an unprotected Spear-bearer, but is completely ineffective against a Shield-bearer.

Spear: a wooden shaft with a sharp bronze head. Strong enough to effortlessly punch through the wooden shield of the Shield-bearer, and has the advantage of reach -- but this weapon can only be wielded with two hands. It's bearer can't carry a shield, leaving him or her vulnerable to the Sling's deadly stone.

Shield: Shield-bearers carry a wooden shield and club. Their defensive advantage renders them invulnerable to the Sling's stone, allowing them to close in for the kill -- but can't overcome the Spear's reach advantage.

When weapons of the same type square off against each other, advantage is determined by numerical superiority. If both sides have an equal number of bearers, neither has an advantage and the result is determined by coin toss.

DARKSHADE wins Immunity by numerical superiority.

Tribe SIBLING must vote a member of their tribe off the island.

Submit your vote to me by PM by 15:00 GMT (that's 7AM Pac-USA (Los Angeles' timezone), 10AM East-USA (New York's timezone)) tomorrow (8-Oct.)

Consider the player's actions to date. Players who did not submit a weapon of choice to the Immunity Challenge definitely hurt your team, because Darkshade had two more weapons in play.

Also you should be working on building alliances within your team, by PM or in the Survivor forum, to improve your chances of staying in the game.

You can start submitting your choices of weapons for tomorrow's immunity challenge now as well. Those are due at 23:00 GMT (3PM Pac-USA, 6PM East-USA.)

Using this system of battle resolution, one can write a short story.

***

The forces of SIBLING and DARKSHADE met on the field of battle.

Representing SIBLING were Superevie, Plexus, Xen, Inter32, Alex the Great and Perfection.

Fighting for DARKSHADE were SeleucusNicator, Tonberry, CivCube, China444, Archer_007, Benderino, Sysyphus and Octavian X.

Tonberry launched his first missile, wounding the advancing Xen. Xen managed to punch his Spear through Octavian X's Shield and skewer him before withdrawing from the fray.

China444's stone struck Spear-wielding SuperEvie, who was able to injure Shield-bearer Sysyphus before being forced to retreat.

Plexus quickly closed the distance to China444, and struck with his Club, forcing China444 out of the melee.

Inter32, deflecting Tonberry's desperate Sling stones with his Shield, moved in close enough to knock him out of play.

Alex the Great and Perfection reigned many volleys of Stones against their enemies, but DARKSHADE's powerful Shield defense knocked the bullets from the sky. SelucusNicator and CivCube dispatched the pair.

Benderino, DARKSHADE's remaining Slingman, succumbed to the fury of Plexus' mighty Club of vengeance.

Shieldmen Archer_007, CivCube and SeleucusNicator rallied against SIBLING's last standing defenders, Inter32 and Plexus, overwhelming them.

DARKSHADE was victorious!

Okay, it's not a very good story, but you get the idea...

The mighty Xen prevails in his combat, despite being wounded, like the mighty Hector, or Achilles of times long past!

I have failed sibling, i am sorry, a lengthy english project on transcendentalism required almost all of my time today :(

one more chance (unless it is voted) to deem you rself worthy, or be be-headed!
