Ok, fair enough. So what's wrong with a polite " hey folks, some of your questions proved invaluable to us, and we're implementing a few changes". Or how about " we've run into a minor snafu due to a potential error brought to our attention by you wonderful loyal fans, and we're fixing those as we speak, so the FAQ will be briefly delayed"..( Greg, are you taking notes?

).
I'm not trying to be arbitrairy here ( oh, wait, maybe I am), but i'm from the generation of " when a man gives his word, he keeps it". Those of you who laugh, sneer, think it's outdated, are more than welcome to do so. No harm, no foul, your opinions. But that archaic, tired cliche does have merit in today's business practices. Your a rep for a company, you've (and your boss to some extent) put your "word" out to your customers that things will happen by a specific time frame, and you've failed to keep it. Guess what, your reputation diminishes, customers no longer trust you, and overall your "word" means absolutely nothing.
So what you say. They're a multi-million dollar corp. What's one ranting ( not really, but humor me while I wax philisophical) old guy compared to that? In the end result, probably nothing. But then again, my interactions with friends and family will be colored by that experiance. Word of mouth spreads quickly between friends and family, and while archaic or old fashioned in today's electronic age, that may actually be the the tipping scale between a huge block buster or just another decent strategy game.
