I'm thouroughly enjoying this mod so far. I've reached sedentary lifestyle, and am currently training up my generals against barbarian cities and nearby minor civs.
It does seem that animals are a bit OP. Especially Cave Bears.
With Cave Bears being so common, I've adapted the strategy of covering my territory in captured cavebears, and it has worked wonders for keeping out any wandering neanderthalers, and other prehistoric age nuisances.
In fact, I haven't really had a need to build any defensive units except the basic city garrisons.
For offense, I just built hunters, and after capturing tons of Cave bears, those are all levelled up enough to destroy barbarian cities now, if teamed with a general.
Anyone else finds capturing Cave bears (or elephants, it's just that those are much more rare) to be a viable strategy to steamroll through the prehistoric era?
