I'm pretty sure it says so, I just forgot about it
So I entered the Industrial age in 1580, not bad, my personal record for this mod.. And right now in the late 1700 there is a world war that's been going on since the mid 1500's!
It started off as a colonial war, when I wanted to appropriate myself the 2 japanese cities built in the southwest pacific, while I was colonizing the north of australia, and the indians, celts and ethiopians got the rest of that continent.
Then suddenly the Celts decided to invade my australian cities, and they surprised me by using colonial infantries! That's when the world war started
Thanks to my own colonial infantries I retook my city and got most of australia now, and finally I am free to concentrate on India itself, as they are a big problem: large, rich, and in a golden age! Thankfully theya re throwing all their old war elephants/elephant archers against my riflemen...
The 2 sides (I love it when the game can actually manage to have 2 sides rather than just a bunch of nations fighting):
China (me!), Babylon, Mongolia, Zululand, Carthage and the Iroquois
VS
Rome, Celts, Scandinavia (pitiful with only 1 city), Ethiopia and the Maya.
I haven't contacted the Inca yet heh, the Jorubans are gone, and Japan is now only on its little island. Too many units in the cities so I won't concentrate on that island for now, but it seems like they will redeclare war on me eventually, as they already have trade embargos.
This is fun

and what I just realized, I don't even care about the victory conditions - spaceship, domination, conquest, culture, diplomatic. I prefer playing interesting situations like this world war
