The new wonders - Christianity worked very well...
all American and African ones had it! :)

Por Mongols have no wonder to build...
I now try to help them
with mangudai being FAST (3 moves) and BLITZ...
so Mongols have WONDERful horses... :)

I play another test, again with Maya
to see how it turns out second time around...

And then I put up a new v4-test file here!

wow emperor games are very different from Monarch! all those conquests by the AI... heh

I dunno if 3 moves will help the mangudai.. Maybe making it slightly cheaper so the AI has more?

Here is a map from Mayan-test #2, 1440 AD
I am pleased to see how different it is this time:

I am now having a game with the Romans :)
On demigod level!

And one thing turned out...
I could build Pax Romana only after 5 cities!
As long as I see this a nice feature
(to build it after having a grown empire),
I deny it because of the stupid AI...

I think this 5-city thing was because of the
"lower corruption" item checked for PR
I unchecked this advantage from PR...

The game with Romans is REAL fun,
my barave legions had a fabulous era
with golden age and conquest of
Celtic and Scandinavian cities...
I have taken Grobina in 430! :)
(enemy horses were tied to defend other horses
from further East :D

in 450
I am learning Education now...
Papal States will be in 2 turns,
Crusades in 9...

Hm, I am satisfied with how things develop
with this v4 version,
so here is a new and up to date

CoE v4 for testing!

- If you wish Newton's University located exclusively on
the British Isles (that is, intended for the Celts),
delete furs in the editor from tile 65,11
(Scandinavia, near iron and wheat)

It is only demigod, not deity... :)

Here is a picture of the map I see in 430 AD,
after conquering Scandinavian capital, Grobina:

let me show part of the power graph, also from 430 AD...
It shows how I suffered losses to get this conquest of Scandinavian cities...

Also, we can see strong Celts (darg green) and Carthage (grey, far right)!
They are both neighbours and are potential danger!

And they should be a danger.. They were a danger to Rome until they dealt with them, at least partly...

I finished my celts game!!! Score victory in 2050 AD, I managed to overtake everyone in culture and land area. In fact, with 50% population, I was 8% land area (25%) short of a domination victory! I started a bit too late.

Whoever says democratic republic isn't good for conquering though.. pfff! I've been in DR since 1828 or so, and throughout 2 huge wars and this 50 turns conquest I did, my govt didn't topple at all.

I first started with Rome.. then Scand and Mongolia, then down through Ethiopia and Carthage and finally China. The Iroquois, ZUlus and Japanese were starting to be quite a threat, with cruise missiles, MARINES (yes they attacked ireland with marines), and modern armor!

With a bit more time to build culture improvements and conquer some Zulu cities, I probably would've easily reached 33% of the land area.. Still, it was a very nice challenge!

Culture in Londinium: 9755, Nagasaki: 8333. So I surpassed everyone even in 1-city culture!
Culture overall: 38500, Iroquois: 36637. I was closely following them, being 1000-2000 behind, then overtook them when I built the Internet.

Score: 1170, Iroquois: 978. Only 20 turns ago or so did I get a higher score than the Iroquois. whew!

The Iroquois only had 9% land area and 12% pop.. tsk tsk tsk!

Dear narmox, how could that be only 8%, your empire at the end???
Wasn't it 18%...?

(maybe the domination condition of 25% land should be lessened to, say, 20%?)

For those, who are playing/testing with

v4-test-2

here is the updated
CivPedia

Maybe my sentence was unclear ;) I was 8% _short_ of domination. So I was at 25% of land area, and the requirement is 33% :) Which is perfectly fine I think...
