I am now a happy man :goodjob: :D .Vince Young to the Texans????:scan:

You think it would be better for him to do another season in college or to go straight to the NFL?

Draft stock wise, it'll never be higher, so he should come out now if he wants to be the number one pick. It all comes down to priorities, if he wants to win the Hiesman he'll come back (though that doesnt' mean he'll get it), if he feels satisfied in his accomplishments or just wants the millions that will await him in the nfl, he'll go. But honestly, the odds are that if he does come back he won't be the top pick of the draft next year (like Lienart would have been last year if he would have entered, but not now), and that could cost him a few million.

Bush and Leinart will probably both go ahead of him. Young is big and strong and crappy defenses like USC make him look good but running about like that he'll get murdered in the NFL. Defenses are way to fast and strong. Against Ohio State, the best rush defense in the country and probably the best defense in the country (when you consider the offenses they played) shut him for most of the game. He had one big run initially catching the players off guard but AJ Hawk and the rest of the crew kept him at bay. If only the Buckeyes could have capitalized off the turnovers.

Leinart looked pretty good in yesterdays game. One thing I'm not sure about. He has pretty good presence and sense in the pocket but when this guy gets hit he takes it really badly. Not saying that the Texas db/lb was soft on him on the hit at the end of the 1st half but most other QBs (even on the college level) get back up and back to work. The Nebraska QB was hammered 70% of the pass plays vs Michigan but he kept getting back up. If Leinart is going to fall over so easily in college, people like Ray Lewis or Rodney Harrison will make mince meat out of him. If the USC offensive line didn't hold Texas d-linemen as much we'd see a lot more Leinart on the ground (bad officiating).

As for Leinarts value, its probably higher going into the draft this year. He looks like overall a better QB even if he didn't win another NC (means nothing in the NFL). He would have been picked first last year while Bush will probably go before him but he'll get an equally large deal. I think the Texans will cave in to the fans and take Bush, Leinart goes to New Orleans and Vince Young a bit further down. If Houston does not take Bush and he does well we'll all look back at it as the stupidest decision ever (up there with Portland not taking Michael Jordan). However it will be tough for Bush to do anything without an offensive line.

Regarding the top 25:

Alabama's ahead of Auburn. MWHAHAHAHAHA!
It doesn't bother me much that Auburn's ahead of Wisconsin, even if they did lose to them. Auburn's still probably a better team, they just played like crap.
It does surprise me a little bit that Oregon didn't drop farther.
There's a five loss team in the top 25
Nice that Cal got back in there at the end.

Regarding the draft:

I agree that Vince Young will probably not be a truly great NFL QB, and he'll probably go after Bush and Leinart.
Bush could be effective at Houston, maybe. He's easily better than Carnell Williams at any rate . . .

I'm gonna puke. Notre Dame got manhandled in the final game and won only 9 games with the easiest schedule on earth. And they're still ranked in the top 10

Meh. Sportsline lists their strength of schedule as 30th. They beat three bowl teams. Notre Dame's always a little overrated, but so are a lot of teams. I don't think their ranking is as ridiculous as a five loss FSU team staying in the top 25 . . .

Yup. Big tie.

AlCosta15 17-11
ummmm........ 17-11
LLXerxes 17-11
Fetus4188 16-12
shortguy 16-12
Azale 14-14
blindside 13-15
pawpaw 12-16
MattBrown 12-15

ACC 5-3
Big 12 5-3
Pac-10 3-2
C-USA 3-3
MAC 1-1
Mountain West 2-2
SEC 3-3
Big Ten 3-4
WAC 1-2
Big East 1-3
Sunbelt 0-1

Looks like the best anyone did over at ESPN was 25-3. Which is pretty darn good . . .

17-11. Not too bad for this, definetly could have done better if I was actually thinking about that FSU- Penn State game.

over .500, can't complain

Hey, over .500 just means you did better than guessing. Though that's better than I usually do at this sort of thing . . .

I was guessing for most of those. I'm a good guesser.

So I read this this morning on ESPN's website, and I just have to wonder, Is our President completely ********??? He calls Mack Brown at 6 in the morning after the National Championship game!! It doesn't take a supergenius to figure that Mack Brown, like most of the rest of the Texas team were probably up to about 5 that morning celebrating.
LOS ANGELES -- It didn't take long for Texas coach Mack Brown to understand how this national championship thing works. He got a wake-up call at 6 a.m. Thursday from President George W. Bush.

"Sally asked me if I was awake and wanted to take it," Brown deadpanned, referring to his wife. "I said, 'I think so.'"

61 percent? Based on my school grading system, I have an F... What an... unpredictable season.
BTW, find your winning percentage-
(x/28)*100
X is the number of games you predicted right.

61% That's an A in the biochemistry class that I took! One of our midterms (in a class of about 100) had an average of 36.8/100!

Vick kicked off Virginia Tech football team.
Marcus Vick was kicked off VT, maybe he'll enter draft.

Wow, that's a shocker! I figured he'd get a 2 game suspension or something. But I guess with the the driving w/o a lisence incident last month that they mention in the article it makes more sense. But I'm really curious as too what he will do because he has no chance of being a first day pick this year.

Vick can transfer to a Division I-AA school and will be able to play next season.
Marcus Vick did not live up to the hype of being better then Mike Vick.
