Vick can transfer to a Division I-AA school and will be able to play next season.
Marcus Vick did not live up to the hype of being better then Mike Vick.

Yeah, Mike's a whole lot better than getting 14 year old girls drunk!

In terms of being a better quarterback, the standards weren't set that high.

Yes, they were. Michael Vick set all kinds of Tech records to lead the Hokies to the National Championchip in 2000. The standards were plenty high for Marcus.

Yes, they went to the National Championship in 1999, not 2000 like I said. They lost to Flordia State.

Vick was an *******.

They may be underrated even at #5. It's tough to tell this far in advance, and tough to tell at all for WVU with no in conference competition . . .

No they aren't, their defense is too bad too stop an above average offense, let alone stop the likes of Texas, USC, or Ohio State right now. Honestly, the Penn State game would probably be the only game they wouldn't be heavy underdogs in against the 4 teams ahead of them. I'd even take LSU over them. The Mountaineers are about right where they should be 5/6 depending on the poll.

Right. IIRC, they got slaughtered by the VaTech offense. They let Georgia rally late in the Sugar Bowl. You can't run an all offense no defense team, it's too risky when you play a well rounded team.

For the 2005 campaign, West Virginia was 10th in scoring defense and 8th in total defense. I don't know who they lose to graduation, but I don't think that qualifies as all offense no defense . . .

I think the LSU-Miami showed us just how meaningless those stats are in big games. Miami went into that game with the number 1 scoring defense in the NCAA and the top pass defense and a top 15 rush defense making them top 3 in total defense. However, that didn't stop a Freshman QB in his first game to have a field day against this 'awesome D.' But WVU numbers don't look nearly as good when you take into consideration that they played against 2 teams that aren't even in the top 100 of total offense(Syracuse and Cincinnati) and one D1-AA team(Wofford).
