Colonies IV MP beta test

Steve, contact me on AIM this afternoon, or email me with your questions. I have played England extensively in my playtesting, and I have some tips for you.....

(Maybe you have some for me, as France, as you played the French so much!)

John I tried late on Sunday (Last sunday) but you must have been off already. My never ending house projects are cramping my CIV time!

Ill try again later this evening UK time.

Inevitable, what do you mean inevitable?
Just agree on him getting Ireland and there will be no war. :p
This conflict can be worked out easily with diplomacy. I'm sure John will be very reasonable. :mischief:

Yes spoken like a true ally of France.

What part of England were you promised?:p

There are no plans to invade England ded by France or Holland - this decade anyway. Ireland will be French, aside from Dublin.

France invites other nations to state their claims to any piece of land likely to be in dispute, in order to avoid unneccesary friction.

I will play in a few minutes....

England Announces a Defensive Alliance with Spain.

The Irish Cities of Sligo, Lisburn and Cork as well as the Scotish cities of Inverness, Aberden, Oban and Edinburgh are all considered part of the British sphere or influenece. Any attacks there are considered an attack on England itself.

French King just as I have no business in the independant cities in southern France you have no business in Ireland.

Ive made myself very clear here, and have made no demands on you or your territory. If a war starts you will be the cause not me.

The file contained in the zip has the wrong filename (1630janHolland.net), but it seems to contain the correct save as the game has moved forward with my turn to July 1631.

However, I would like that offer accepted before I play, so I will wait an hour or so for you to repost the file, Yop.

That's better Steve! OK, about time you got started diplomatically....

Right: France does not renounce her claims to Ireland, although she claims no cities there that are English now. The rest WILL be French, and if Spain chooses to go to war to preserve the Irish Catholics for eventual domination by the heretics of England, so be it.

They'll probably get excommunicated by the Pope! ;)

Nevertheless, the French borders with Spain are being reinforced, and troops sent to the Caribbean, just in case....

I reclaim all south and Central America. I'll kindly allow some dutch colonies, but only under my express authorization.

As a sidenote, I think we can wait 24 hours for the Yop's offer.

I'll not go on war, but I can't allow a european war...

I started at the beginning John, I just didn't start before we started playing.

And as you know you were the first one I talked to and you rejected my offers.

And as for England making demands of France - the idea is laughable! :D

However, neutrals will notice that I make no demands of English territory either. The lands of Ireland in question are those where the writ of England does not run. Indeed, I consign the Calvinist heretics of Scotland to the tender mercies of their southern neighbours without a qualm.

If England opposes French troops in Ireland, or elsewhere, with force, then she may expect life to get very interesting, if bloody!

However, French troops will not fire upon Englishmen unless they are themselves attacked, nor trespass into the area of control around Dublin, known as The Pale. We shall see in due course who the aggressor is, here....

I would be willing to agree to Ireland remaining under "Barbarian Control".

But France over running the Irish is unacceptable. It is an excuse to give the French bases to interdict English Shipping whenever she desires.

I dont think Im being unreasonable here. I can comprimise. But I must do what is in the British national interests!
