Colonys stop working: HELP!

I send out my colony ships, they land on high class planets. in my currnt game, all are 10 or above. im lucky like that i guess. then they go to building, factorys, farms, xeno labs, star ports. and they usualy work for the first building, and sometimes 2 or 3 of them, but then they just stop.

they can no longer build buildings on the surface of the planet, even when there are slots left to build in. ive tried buying the building, removing it and requeuing it, i even destroyed the colony and relanded. nothing works.

they can still build ships if they have a starport, but if it didnt get that far into the queue then the planet is worthless. i tell it to focus on social, nothing, military, nothing, research, nothing.

and it happens to EVERY colony except my homeworld and MAYBE the next closest planet.

WHATS GOING ON!

How is your Industrial Capacity spending? If it's set low because of cashflow problems I think the game takes care of the capital first and then the closest ones until the cash (production) runs out.

ive tried it at 0%, ive tried it at 100% while taxing my populace enough to support the 100% rating.

bump. fun game, but this happens every round. sometimes it takes longer, but eventualy, it stops the game when it takes 900 turns to research something.

Tax Rate = How much income you take from your population
% Industrial Capacity = How much resources is actually directed to those you have control of which are the Military, Social, and Research.

Income goes into Industrial Capacity. So if you have no income, you get no Industrial Capacity. You may have run out of money.
Industrial Capacity (0% - 100%) Higher percent means your constructions finish faster or your research finishes faster. Drains your treasury faster though.

i sold techs out and got 60k in the bank, i control close to 50 worlds, and make 6gpt. manfacturing is at 90% tax rate is at 35%, 33% military research and social.

i have tested to see if what % goes to what type matters. bo change.

bump. i love this game, but this is a game breaking problem. i could post a savegame if somone wants to check it out. just gotta explain how to upload it.

IIRC that will get you the same amount ofmoney in productio every time. Your approval should be around 50-60 % not 100. I usualy set my taxes to 49% and that works fine for me.

You should post on the GalCiv 2 site (www.galciv2.com) or even better, email your saved game to support @ stardock with an explanation of the issue and they'll look at it. I'll say I've never heard of this issue at all.

currently my game sits like this, there seems to be alot of miscommunication. the 100% rating is 100% manfaturing slider

tax 30%
Manufacture 60%
treasury 57,931
military 33
social 33
research 33

all colonys are currently building a building on a green tile. they are the only building in the queue. all colonys are set to do social production. i have bought all the buildings, but they sit at 0 turns to complete and on one of the screens it says -1wk to go. forget what screen

here is my savegame of the latest issue, this time it struck on turn 3 on the homeworld. i played some past then trying to figure things out. so far its happend as terran, alteran, iconian, yor, and drath. i dont think my race has a factor in this bug or whatever it is.

lets hope somone can figure this out, cause im out of ideas.

grah! gal civ saves are 5mb per, 500kb is the limit for these forums, anyone got some webspace?

We already told you to contact Stardock with your problem. There isn't much anyone here is going to be able to do for you. Brad at Stardock is always wanting saved game files if there are bugs or weirdness going on.

sent it to the email provided and no reply. no point in closing down one avenue of possible solutions by giving up on this thread, somone who knows how to fix it and hasent posted might see it before i get a reply back from stardock.

Oh I understand and ment no offense. Good luck. Being the weekend Stardock probably won't get back to you until the first part of next week (assuming they aren't swamped by all the people gettng the game).
