Or maybe they just wanted some attention for themselves. Some people are willing to do anything just to get some attention. But killing yourself along with a lot of other people? Hello, anybody in there? *knock knock*
But if they just want attention, don't bring up this topic at this stage. The Columbine shootings happened some time ago, right? By taking up this matter now you just tell others that this is a great way of getting attention.
There is already full of psychological violence in school, i am sure you remember an exemple where most of the student, choose a weaker one ( or with an ''ugly face") and he is the bashing tool of the gang.
I was strong enough to defend myself and even other from those little bully, but if i were weak and countinuously beeeing harras, i dont know what i would have done.
My high school was full of a bunch of rich kids and it was impossible for we kids from the 'other town' to compete. Because I was a scrawny nerd, I had to use humor to survive. It's hard to tease someone when it has no effect.
There are a few people I'd like to punch in the nose at a reunion, but it would slove nothing. I've overcome all the high school BS by becoming successful and not taking the world, and myself so seriously.
Mine wasn't violent, just heavy peer pressure based on what clothes you wore or what sports you played. I managed to later fit into each group by joing the track team, editing the school paper, and playing in a rock band.
It took a lot to all those things and it really sounds trivial if that's what it takes to feel included....
The thing that kept me going (and not shooting my classmates) was that I realized that life after high school was much better. I couldn't wait to graduate!
