[GS] combination of "quality of life" mods that work with the current Civ6 Gathering Storm

Tried the following combination of mods for about a 100 turns today, starting in Industrial era, then also started in ancient era and played for ~30 turns.
all mods installed from Steam workshop, no hacking / manually editing files / etc.
this combination looks good so far:

  • Concise UI
  • Extended diplomacy ribbon
  • More lenses
  • Policy change reminder
  • research stop reminder
  • resources at a glance
  • Sukritact's Global Relations panel
  • Tactical Camera by Tom Illar
the main reason why I kept exploring various mod combinations was because I really wanted to be able to:
* buy items with gold and faith on the same panel as regular production list
* have a shorter list to scroll through in that production list

@Bibor - I know CQUI has not been released in a while. did you need to make any hacks to install it? I suppose you used "expansion2" branch of that git repo?

Yes. This is the link. I tried to post the whole ZIP into a post on this forum, but it got stuck in "under review" ;)
https://github.com/Azurency/CQUI_Community-Edition/tree/expansion2

I already forgot what features CQUI had exactly, but all the quality of life things like worker charges, "mouseover for worked tiles" etc. are there.

I tried this combination -
  • CQUI from "expansion2" branch, as suggested in previous messages
  • Better report screen (I do not recall if CQUI had those city-unit-etc reports before, but I definitely do not see them now. maybe this part is broken, or it was never there. anyway, Better report screen mod fixes this.)
  • Tactical Camera by Tom Illar (want to be able to zoom out farther on a large monitor).
this works fine in May 2020.

things that are still missing as far as quality of life goes -
  • enqueue some project on repeat (e.g. run commercial hub project indefinitely in late game, to avoid being asked every few turns in 20 cities). Civ 6 allows placing things in queue, but that is not ideal. I would just want to do a single-click "run this forever and stop asking"). I think Concise UI had this option (?).
  • victory conditions tracking, similar to Concise UI. have a few small icons on the screen that would constantly show your science/culture/religious/.. conditions. you should not go to a menu and click through multiple tabs every few turns to see if you are winning or losing
  • ideally - redesign the interface layer to allow popup windows to be moved out of the main game area. e.g. pull "current civic cards" into a separate movable popup window that you can either keep on the screen all the time, or move it to your second monitor and keep it there while playing. same goes for any other popup, be it Great People tracking or anything else. you can close those popups if you do not need them, or move to another screen.

I think the fact that the AI only gives good strategic ressource deals if you use the "what would you give" exploit when they're at 0 gold is no "mistake", the game was literally designed to waste massive amounts of your time that way. if I try to play optimally I spend more than half my time in the dumb *** trade screen... the fact that I need 5 clicks for every single trade deal is utterly infuriating. that's my pet conspiracy theory for 2020, anyway. also, **** that "feature" of strat. ressources now being split up into microparts, I hate everything about it. has made me hate the trade screen more than the civ 5 one. many games nowadays do this, just waste your time and limit progress for the sake of it.

I wish I could just sell 40 iron for 40GPT if the AI is at 0 bulk gold instead of selling one at a time. That would literally cut the time of all my games in half.

Are there any mods in this thread the function of which aren't encompassed in CQUI?
please take a look at my message that has "things that are still missing as far as quality of life goes -" in it. I listed some of the missing parts in CQUI and possible supplemental plugins that I tested to work well with the CQUI from "expansion2" branch.

Apologies, I was a bit cheeky, @riddleofsteel is right, there are some other QoL mods out there, but I can't really live without CQUI, it's unique features make it a must.
Better report screen is really good.
No worries! I removed concise ui last night and installed the 'expansion 2' version of CQUI from github last night and it's great so far! I used to use CQUI way back in the day before Gathering Storm and it was always my favorite. But then it seemed like it wasn't working properly in one way or another for many months so I gave up on it until now. Do you know if it's normal for the city production screen to not automatically close once you've chosen a new production job with CQUI? I think I might have a mod conflicting somewhere otherwise. Thanks for your help!

There are 3 UI mods I deem as 'mandatory':
1.Better Report Screen -specifically its policy tab (otherwise calculating the various yields of economic/trade policies is a huge time sink)
2.Better Trade Screen
3.Concise UI -specifically its deal screen module. If you like to swindle every last penny from your enemies.. trust me you need this. (will need to delete its trade screen folder, it conflicts with 2.)

I use both Sukritact (Simple UI and Global Relations), Better trade screen and one to measuring radius. There are two version of the measuring tool, one that reveals tactical resources and the other doesn't do it.

That Global Relations was in Civ4, and it was one of my favorite tools. Now we only need that relations table.

Civilization 5 trade screen worked like the better trade screen mod. I don't know why firaxis didn't kept that screen.
