Community Patch - How To Install

May game keeps crashing to desktop when I restart "re-roll" a game.

It has also crashed to desktop when buying tiles playing as Russia

I've rehosted all the files on Google Drive. Sorry for the downtime, everyone!

For those of you joining us via Quill's LP, welcome!

You said a few days ago that you were going to upload a new version with some hotfixes soon. Is this already that version?
I'm asking since the 21 faith Celtic Pantheon is still present in the version on Google Drive.

(Still perfectly playable though - I just purposefully avoided picking that pantheon.)

Played a game last night into the Industrial Age. I had to write and say that, what I have seen in this mod is almost miraculous. I write most particularly with the AI in mind. I would not have thought it possible for you to get the diplomacy features operating in such a way that my opponents feel like rational actors -- almost human.

Fraxis should be very interested in the achievements in AI, if they care for little else you've done. And the entire mod is just fantastic.

This latest build also appears finally to have achieved stability. Had no crashes. I hope that, with remaining bugs fixed up, a version of this can be published that is a stable platform---and we can somehow bring it into Multiplayer! :)

I followed the install instruction in the first post for manual installation and also tried the install .exe but I get the following error when hovering my mouse over a building and all tiles show food:

Code:
Assets\DLC\UI_bc1\Core\EUI_tooltips.lua:1251:attempt to call field 'Building_CorporationResourceQuantity' (a nil value)

I cleared my cache, removed all other mods and I'm not subscribed to any mod in steam. My game language is english.

Did you clear your cache? Also, you have met all the mod requirements? Make sure the two LUA folders (CP and CBP) are deleted, and that EUI is installed in your Civ 5 DLC folder properly. All that done, make sure the EUI-compatibility file is in your MODS folder.

I'm having some issues with the EUI part of the "Community Patch Project Full (EUI Version)"

I removed all civilization files from the steam folder and the mygames folder so none of my previous mods would be in the way. Reinstalled civilization, ran CPP and removed the cache from mygames. I can activate all the mods just fine but once I get into the game the UI looks very wonky and none of the improvement tooltips for the tiles work.

Edit: On closer inspection even with the EUI mod off I still have the same UI issue, what's causing it is the "Community Balance Patch - Compatibility Files(EUI)(v.1)". Although EUI still doesn't seem to work correctly only giving basic information and none of the EUI menu options exist.

Edit2: Found the issue, didn't realize the installer for EUI defaulted to the standard path for steam instead of my custom.

Hello everybody . :) Haven't played this mod for a long time so.. i thought i give it another spin.
I havent seen the Events and decisions mod , was it removed ? if so, is it still compatible with community patch?
I really liked the decisions, they're the only quivalent of events from Galciv 3,
And cheers. it still a great mod even whitout events and decisions.

afaik, it is still compatible, though it can be the reason for a variety of bugs, which is why it was removed from the first page.
so you still can use it at your own risk. ;)

Hey there, Mac user checking in.

I went ahead and used Wineskin to run the set up executable and (with some edited pathing) it seems to have put all the files in the correct places (UI_bc1 in DLC and mods in the MOD folder), but when I try to enable the mods the only one that it'll let me enable is More Luxeries (v. 155), everything else has a "Missing Dependencies" tool tip with the exception of Community Patch (v. 66) which says "Mod Not Compatible with the version of Civ5" message.

I did a clean install of the game (through steam) to try to fix the problem, double checked the cache was entirely cleared, even tried (and possibly failed) to do a manual download. Anyone have any other ideas? (Preferably that don't involve burning, breaking, damaging, or otherwise defacing my computer).

Is your version of civ definitely up to date? Try verifying your civ install in steam (verify integrity of game cache) and then see that pushes you to version .279.

(Confession: I use a mac for my work, and PC for my modding!)

Cache verified and the version is definitely .279.

*Edit* I just checked, both the UI mod and More Luxuries work just fine. It's got to be something inherent to the other mods that's breaking. More Luxuries has all its information self contained, but the others are codependent, aren't they? And all except ML is dependent on CP, right?

I hate to deliver bad news, but since CP is a DLL-mod, it will not work on a Mac.
A DLL requires Windows and is the equivalent to shared libraries.

Therefore you cannot run the other mods that depend on CP as well, sorry.

Is this maybe the case with a 32-bit system as well? Most DLL mods simply don't work and crash civ when loading, including this one.

Umm, has Google banned the CP Core Installer?

"We're sorry. You can't access this item because it is in violation of our Terms of Service."

No, on 32-bit it should work just fine (Civ 5, as a matter of fact, is a 32-bit application).
Have you tried all the other tips for solving this kind of problem (clearing cache, verify game files, removing all other mods, reinstalling the game..) yet?

Let me know if you have any questions!

I can recommend Mega as an additional Mirror. I used it for my Modpack for Minecraft and it's really easy to use.

EDIT: 1000 replies. Wow!

We did it!

Also good call re: Mega. I've shifted everything over. Neither Google nor Dropbox like the CP anymore.
