Community Patch - Modpack (Multiplayer Compatible)

I've tried changing the ModOptions and that DIDN'T seem to work.

Ah, you are right! I just checked it again, and the options are stored in the modpack-files, so changing them in the mod won't work.

But don't worry, here is how you can change it manually:
  • open the CustomModOptions.xml
  • search for an option you want to change and copy the name of it, e.g. BUILDINGS_NW_EXCLUDE_RAZING
  • go to the modpack, and in the Override-folder open the CIV5Units.xml
  • search for the name you just copied, like BUILDINGS_NW_EXCLUDE_RAZING...
  • ..and change the value there

Done. :)

Using Beta 4.10 and with EUI and 5 city states

Desync - 5 comps | Normal Barbs
Turn:
29
44
54
55
61
63

Desync - 5 comps | No Barbs:
19
23
28
33
35

Provided logs for the no barbs game. There seems to be something going on with the:

[2609.444] DBG: Game Random Number Generators are out of sync : local.seed=

So the seeds aren't matching up against the other players. Why would the seeds generate local and not from the host and be pushed out to the clients?

We are trying some changes to the config.ini turned on:

; Random seed for game sync, or '0' for default
SyncRandSeed = 1

; Random seed for map generation, or '0' for default
MapRandSeed = 1

For each player. I'll let you know if this makes any difference.

On another note, we noticed that having more then 5 city states causes turn calculation to go MUCH slower. When we were in a game with 6 ai and 20 city states, around turn 100 ish the turns it would take to process would range from 30 seconds to a minute/minute and a half each.

UPDATE 1:
Desync - 5 comps | No Barbs - options changed:
27
36
44
47

Log file - 2 zip. Didn't seem to fix/change anything :|
We are now going to host a multiplayer game using Evolve and doing it through a lan setting. Maybe it's something with the multiplayer server?

UPDATE 2:
Desync - 5 comps | No Barbs - Pit Boss enabled + Evolve LAN
10
18

Log file - 3.zip. Looks like internet games have nothing to do with it. This game... Ugh

UPDATE 4:
Desync - 5 comps | No Barbs + NO EUI - Evolve LAN
45
48
49
52

Could anyone give us some feedback about the Active AI during MP please?

Does the AI send trade offers?
Were these offers valid (no empty deals and so on)?
Any CTDs when accepting/ refusing trade offers?

The AI is indeed trading and declaring wars much more aggressively, though they often seem to declare wars at random. As in. When they have no army, no allies and no advantage to speak of. Sometimes they randomly declare wars when they physically can't reach me.

The trading is p. well done though, not seen any crashes or invalid deals. So yes, good job on that!

I got an empty gift from Ethiopia. IIRC it was probably because I had just made peace with Byzantium, as Haile Selassie said it was to support my war efforts, even though I was no longer in war. I might be wrong though, since the game took place a week ago, but I'm fairly sure of this. Both me and my friend got several trade offers by AI and AI also DOWed us a few times. I don't remember any of the deals causing CTDs. This was with 4/9.

BTW, everything worked very well even with EUI (but no barbs). I guess we got just one CTD during the first 100 turns. At around turn 180 we started to get several of them, as we both got into a war (my friend fought against 2 enemies, I had just one opponent). Don't know if it had something to do with CTDs that around the time we found each other's continents. For some reason, earlier wars didn't cause CTDs, or they caused much less of them.

CTDs, or desyncs?

Thanks Purr and Forsti for the feedback!

To clarify:

CTD = crash to desktop
desync = loading screen between turns

When and if do you intend on releasing community patch only C4DF with the active AI ? Or there is a way to input active AI into existing version of community patch C4DF 3/9?

When you are able to compile your own modpack with any combination of mods you like, you can just use the DLL from one of my modpacks and Active AI will be on. But it must be the very same CP-version (4/10), so 3/9 won't work!

Also, I have several times I had two or more diplomatic notifications on the right side. Clicking on one, accepting the deal, and then the others are not here anymore. I'm not sure they were not linked, but the deal in question was just a simple "open borders" deal.

Another one : I have a notification about renewing a deal, and clicking on it does nothing. I spotted one (A declaration of friendship between me and Gandhi), and it seems that I made a deal to Ganhi without knowing it ? ( http://i.imgur.com/WKzNvzs.jpg ). Of course if I open the diplomatic view with Gandhi I can't propose a declaration of friendship again, and it seems we are still friends. It seems the deal was renewed.

Seems to me that there is a sync problem. Logs : https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/33151790/DiploDeal.zip

If a completed deal makes another deal invalid for any reason, or the AI does not want it anymore, it goes away.

I'll check, it's possible. I don't see how a open border deal with a civ would stop others to make a deal, I did not know the AI valued that.

I think it's because normally the ai would offer you deals on their turn, but because of the no pop-up mod they're offered all at once when your turn begins, and so if one is accepted the others become invalid because you can't accept more than one from the AI on the same person's turn.

Or that's what it feels like, at least. I may be wrong -- I'm not a civ modder.

I also noticed that the pop ups sometime stay from one turn to another. Clicking on them do nothing, I just dismiss them.

The No Popups-mod doesn't affect the diplo-notifications at all, and it's normal that you receive MP-style trade offers only during your own turn. :)

Do you mean the trade offers on the right side of the screen? Hm, that should not happen..
