Community Patch - Modpack (Multiplayer Compatible)

Same thing with desyncing. Started on turn 6, happened turns 7 and 8 as well.
No combat for either of us.


Both me and my friend had fresh installations, deleted the My Games subfolder as well etc.

Using the most recent update: I found that the first 3-5 turns ran without a hitch. Afterwards, you started to see lots of Desync errors (1/turn or so). Which logs can I post, if any, to be helpful?

Are there any particular tests I could run to see what does and doesn't cause the problem?

Details: tiny map; 2 human, 2 AI. City states. Barbs.

I had less issues after both removing the local game data also a folder in 'my documents\my games' that civ generates.

When I removed this civ folder after a clean install I stopped having issues.
New folder is generated on next play
 
First off, thank you to everyone involved for their efforts.
A friend and I have ruined vanilla Civ V for ourselves with this mod.
Now wanting to play MP with this mod, we turned here.

Loading up a game goes smoothly, but once we settle our first cities, the territory is claimed, but the city label is wayy off, and has every marker on it. Also the cities cannot produce anything
[production list not accessible, clicking new production does nothing].
See attached picture if my wording was awfully crafted.

We have the non EUI version
We tried the EUI version, but it would crash after a turn or two.

Any advice would be welcomed. Thank you everyone for your time.

Troubleshooting attempted :
- Different Civs
- Different #s of AI's/No AIs
- Cleared cache
- Different host
- Multiple setting changes.
- SP, Online MP, Hotseat

Hey, guys - looking for one or two people to run a bug test for me in the Multi-player non-EUI version (as a single-player game).

THE BUG: I can send my Inquisitors to City-States or to other Civs' cities who have given me Open Borders, and I can USE the Inquisitor there to delete their religious presence and add my own.

This isn't what's supposed to happen, and Gazebo has been unable to replicate the problem in the standard version of the patch.

In the screenshot you attached there is EUI running, so could it be that you are using the standard EUI + Modpack?
Because this won't work, for neither version.

Thank you. I think I know what happened. We tried the EUI version first. It would crash to desktop after 1-3 turns every time. So we tried the non-EUI version next. Going to do a re-install of game, and then Modpack

I see. But EUI is included in the modpack, so when deleting it, EUI should be gone, too.
Or have you tried to install EUI additionally to the EUI-modpack? In this case, you don't have to do this (and it will actually break the game ^^).

You don't have to reinstall the whole game, just go to
SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\Assets\DLC
and see if there is a folder called 'UI_bc1'.
Delete it, chose either the EUI- or NonEUI-modpack and you are good to go. :)

We are using the EUI version.
We've tried changing the # of AI and the size of the map, doesn't make a difference.
Can host non-modded games just fine, never had any issue there.
I've included the log folder from the "My Games" folder, IDK if it will help at all but here it is. This is a problem I'm having with two of my friends, one of them who specifically bought all the DLC to play this. They can't play each other, I can't play them, and we can't play all together.

It seems you don't have logging turned on - your logs are empty. I'm afraid you'll have to enable it (here's a simple tutorial) and try to reproduce the desyncs again.

As I said before the desync doesn't happen if you play on the same team so it has something which is not the case if you share vision.

Are you guys still having the desync issue? Me & my friend are having it right now. We reload ever turn. It's very annoying.
 
The latest beta version of CP might be the solution for the desyncs:
Pathfinder completely rewritten by ilteroi (a HUGE task - he deserves major props for this) - could potentially fix the MP desyncs (more testing needed)

There is a hotfix incoming for the peace deals, but when it's out, I will update the modpacks and maybe the desyncs are gone! :)

Basically the same thing that's happening to me when trying to play with my friend. It's frustrating because the mods are so good that it's hard to enjoy vanilla anymore, so we just haven't been able to play haha. Would love to find a solution to these resyncs.

Did playing on the same team work for you as well?
 
Hey guys,

i was pretty much sure that the ethnic units mod is working if you just copy it into the mod folder, but now i noticed that this is not true. Is it even possible to play the multiplayer version with ethnic units? And if so, can you give me a hint how i can make it work, without activating it through the mods menu?

Me and my friend tried getting this to work all last night but couldn't. We were getting lag or desync in between each turn making it go to a load screen after turn 2-8. When we play solo it works fine but when were both in game it starts to do this each turn. Not sure if I attached the right logs or files but. We both have all the DLCs and are on windows 7 DX 10 & 11.

Updated both modpacks to 12/10!

Everyone who encountered desync issues with previous versions should try this one instead, since Gazebo and Ilteroi were working hard on a possible fix. So please report back if the desyncs are gone now. :)

Unfortunately there are some achievements that won't unlock atm, but I will ask Gazebo about it and see what I can do!
