Compilation of HoF writeups!

THe Spiritual trait is deeply under rated on these forums! Being able to always be in the right civics and never having to wait to change into a newly researched one is extremely valuable. On Settler when you are poppong huts 3 move Fast Workers are pretty cool as well!

Yes. Also, I think the organized 50% civic upkeep is worth like an extra trade route in settler level REXes. (Compare cost of no civics between organized and non-organize civs in REX setup.) That's like free market or a 6th civic that requires no building/tech and doesn't need to be adopted.

Perhaps - but as both Darius and Asoka are Organized it doesn't explain the difference between them :-)

True. But I started playing games with Asoka by means of a thought experiment. I pictured myself traveling through the tech tree at a pace of a tech per turn - normal speed. Then I asked myself, "Self, what is the one trait you want at this speed?" I'm lousy at detailed thinking. I'm better at big picture thinking. (Can't see the trees for the forest.)

I didn't see a write-up for this game. Congrats.

The writeup for that game is hidden in the G-Major 137 thread.

I re-read parts of the thread, and unfortunately it seems, that I didn't make a writeup of that round. There's a writeup from Kaitzilla though, and the thread itself offers a lot of info. There are also these two posts: Sera's empire @ 1500BC + Sera's empire @ 900BC which have many screens and maybe can give a better overview of the game when reading the thread. I either assume, that I a) was simply not able to make a writeup of that round because I not only finished the game but the game also finished me and / or b) it was just too much to write up. A game lasting 300h+ and 438T (+large map with 70+ cities etc.) probably is more than fits in a mind. I wrote that "only resuming a round at the next day already was a challenge" , which describes not only how hard it was to motivate myself, but also how difficult it actually was. The "big picture" in those games, just isn't attainable anymore, I believe I simply "tried to find the right path" , and nothing more. As that path was very dark though, I don't remember what happened on it (= most events of the game) . I could write a strategy guide about Spaceraces, but about this game, which I'd use as a basis, I could nowadays only guess. I don't like giving this picture, but try to imagine, that I played less than two months, that means I played like it was a full-time-job. If you work 160h+ / month, you don't remember what happened in the beginning of the month at the end anymore, as you've simply moved further. This is the best and most simple explanation I can give.

Thanks. That is a looooong thread. Took me awhile to figure out who Sera was. (Mr. acronym here can't resist a tease.)

Fantastic thread Seraiel! We really need a sticky thread like this one to help keep track of HoF articles.

Probably should have a link to GM-144. (Hi score gauntlet)

Later today or tomorrow, I'm going to start my tell-all, Deity BC Space Race thread which should make the list.

Added.

The writeups must be HoF-games and must be in HoF forum Wastin. This thread is to bring pride to the HoF forum.

Think this thread deserves a :bump: or to be stickied. Back to the first page at least now, for a while :)
