Also working on a few other things, some terrain improvements and city overview people heads... whatever they're called.
Edit: scratch the city view heads, the pallete isn't compatible, and I'm useless at editing them.
If you tell me in what file(s) the SMAC ones reside, I can take a stab at them.
Some of the city graphics, if they're convertable would be nice - I rather like the two alien sets and the Nautilus Pirates from the expansion.
Oh, almost forgot. I've just finished converting the large map of planet from the expansion. You can find it here
As may be known, only some of those terrain changes actually work. There's a thread somewhere detailing exactly which - link, anyone?
I had a thought which might or might not be helpful: much more terraforming can be done in SMAC than in C3, yet it might be possible to use the pollution effects sequence of terrain changes to represent terraforming (i.e., instead of pollution ruining terrain as in C3, it actually helps by creating better - more Earthlike - tiles).
Best,
Oz
Think about it though, I often end up causing global warming in AC, and usually drowning most of my enemies, but that's part of the way I play.
If we added my sea cities mod into this, it's possible - though I have yet to test this - the sea level may rise and the city would still be there, like a 1-tile island. That's my theory, at least.
If it turns out to be true, then that should solve that problem, no?
Oh, and if anyone feels up to it - could someone attempt a terrain conversion? I've got the files if you need them, Alpha Centauri and Alien Crossfire stuff.
But you can't plant Marsh.
So maybe, change Marsh graphics to Jungle, Jungle Graphics to Forest, and Forest Graphics to Xenofungus. A very round-about way of doing things but I think it's the only way if you want to be able to plant the fungus.
