Sengoku is the hardest one for me. I can beat all the others on Monarch, but I had to go down to Regent for that one.

WWII as Japan is probably to easiest scenario. On Monarch I captured all of China, Indonesia, most of southeast Asia(didn't get Singapore) and most of the little islands that are around Australia. I even made a successful landing in Australia and captured a few cities.

I think it depends on your luck. I tried playing once and it was damn difficult (I had little space), but the next time I tried (I got to be in a corner) and it was EASY.

Tottally agree!

Sengoku was easy. WWII was hardest IMO.

The easiest of all by far was Age of Discovery.

Hardest for me was Fall of Rome... Simply the victory point annoying thing.

Easiest was by far Age of Discovery. AI has no clue what to do with treasures.

Completely depends on what civ. For example, playing as someone who isn't Rome in the Rise of Rome Senario, you must bribe Rome so much or you will have Legionary IIIs raining down on you. But, if you are Rome, then things get much more easier. In the WWII pacific one, if you are China, your airforce gets wiped almost instantly, you spend more time wondering when it would end, because of the wave after wave of solders.

I completely disagree. I used the the Romans and lost, but used the Macedonians ( Spelling? ), and i destroyed everyone. I took over almost all of persia, and scythia.

Mesopotamia. This scen is all about making them Great Wonders. Given AI discount on shields and growth on the harder levels, you are up to a real challenge.

Someone mentioned a mod for playing rome on FoR? Same victory conditions, or even better, can you just not lose the certain amount of cities?

Sounds fun, where can I find it?

Doc:
Yeah, I noticed that from reading the thread. Ouch. Maybe I won't play that one.

I like the idea of really concentrating on defense. Has anyone made a mod where you are the Chinese behind the Great Wall and have to survive horde after horde of mongol wave of attack. That would be fun.

Like you play as Spartans, Trojans, etc. The one that i did play had the Trojans as the Troians. :(
Umm... In Latin, Troy is called Troia, and the adjective form is Troianus. (It's something different altogether in Greek though, I think it's Wilios)

Fall of Rome was hardest of the standard 9 Conquests for me.
Taking out one half of the Romans isn't too tough, but getting
the other half was tricky for me.

I found WW2 hard as the Allies, but straightforward as Japan.

However, hardest of all, was Intro3, "New Alliances".

For me I find Fall of Rome quite hard, but WW2 isn't too hard as the allies. If playing as the US, draft troops on the mainland and airlift them to Guam, you need to keep that city to help your invasion with Marines. First get amphibious war and do 0% science, so you get loads of cash then rush marines in Guam. Also rush a transport and capture an island around there.
As the Commonwealth get amphibious war, then 0% science then rush light tanks in sinapore/indonesia areas then capture Japan's only sources of rubber, then they're stuffed.
As China, erm, good luck :).

I never play it on a high difficulty level though so I'm not sure if they work. (I'm just guessing a good strategy)
