Conquests - Unlock alliances?

Is there a parameter I can change somewhere to unlock alliances?

I want to be able to conquer, traipse through, etc, any piece of land that I choose and not be limited by any alliances that are pre-set.

I didn't see an option for it in the ini file though.

Yes, you can. Go into the editor, open the conquest file, hit "scenario data", then hit "Alliances", and from here you should be able to edit any and all alliances.

of course, that would ruin quite a bit. What if Denmark turned on France in Napoleonic Wars, or Persia and Greece made peace in Rise of Rome?

HAHAHAHA! I've done just that in game before! The way to do it is mutual protection pacts, I declared war on a country that my ally had made a pact with, then my ally was forced to declare war on me.

yeah, SOTD #153 I believe was just that, Prussia having an MP with Denmark, France attacking Prussia.
