I agree, having loyalty as their racial promotion makes the most sense. As for the healing abilities of the Mord-Sith, they have almost modern methods for bringing people from the brink of death, aka CPR and such things if their torture victim dies of shock or heart failure, or some respitory thing.

But asides from such first aid procedures, they have no ways to really cure ill-nesses, only heal wounds and in some cases keep people from dying on them. I'm not sure how to implement a unit that knows CPR ;) As for magic immune, I think its a good idea.

speaking of leaders, it would make sense for Darken Rahl to have aggresive and charismatic, while Richard Rahl would have Tolerant certainly. Not sure if he should have Organized, or Philosophical, ect. It is hard to say.

Alternatively, Darken could have aggro/organized (or aggro/arcane), and Richard could have Tolerant/Charismatic.

Brigit, Brigit!

Probably a better D'haran racial promo would be Immune to Capture and 10% vs melee.

As far as there being any brunette Mord-Sith, I was fairly sure it was impossible, but if it were possible, they would not be honored with the same training or status (even though "status" as a Mord-Sith is a mixed bag).

The wiki says that Denna (a Mord-Sith) has auburn-coloured hair in the book. The TV show depicted her as a blonde.

Denna's "considered the best of all the Mord-Sith at their profession."

Yes indeed

Yes, Denna is the best. I suppose I will have to go through my books to double check, although I was almost certain she was blonde.

Well, my books are leagues away, but I am beginning to think that I simply mis-remembered how things were written.

In the books, Richard eventually kills Denna
Spoiler :
(like for good. I will take a moment to rant about that. The Mord Sith have no "magical" breath of life, it is an advanced form of CPR that is entirely mundane. Being run through the sword of truth, as Denna EVENTUALLY was much later, she was dead for good.)
And it is Cara that ends up being personal Bodyguard to Richard Rahl. Cara is blonde, although I honestly forget which color hair belonged to Denna. If indeed wikipedia is correct, and Denna had auburn hair, then my original assumption was wrong.

Acording to the wiki:
Bernadine had long brown hair.

Her fellow Mord-Sith and lesbian lover Raina had dark eyes and think black hair.

Denna had auburn hair in the books although she was blond on the TV

Constance had dull brown hair

Also, in the TV show when Kahlan Amnell disguised herself as a Mord-Sith she did not bother changing her hair color and the guards didn't seem to suspect she was a fake.

yes, I do believe that was simply the folly of my own memory. It made sense at the time however, as the Bond between slave and Rahl-master was focused much more highly in the books, and also in the Books, the D'harans were given many descriptions and lore which drew quite heavy parallels with Nazi Germany.

I suppose it is better explained in the books, but looking back upon it, I suppose if the Mord-Sith were tortured from a young age then their devotion would be more psychological than magical. Still, it does not explain how the Mord-Sith are the MOST devoted, even though that is supposed to only be possible from the strongest of bloodlines ... which was heavily based upon Nazi views :/

I voted for Tayschrenn. Bernado was great, but seemed like his mechanics would be a PITA to implement. And I would hate to rescue Brigit, only to have her run off and create a whole new civ instead of becoming a hero for me.

I really think a D'Haran civ would be a bad idea for a FfH modmod. It can't possibly fit lorewise (since it has its own lore from the books) and is also a trademarked property (though I doubt Terry Goodkind or his publisher would ever know or care). A better solution would be a civ loosely based on D'hara. You then wouldn't have to worry about how exactly to implement Mord-Sith and whatnot, you could make a more FfH-like unit that meshes better with the rest of the game.

Maybe call them the Radynians (a loose anagram of Goodkind's idol Ayn Rand). :mischief: Name the leaders whatever you want. New trait: Objectivism (best for your version of Richard). Cannot adopt a state religion (atheists), automatically has Free Trade civic regardless of prereqs (capitalists), +10%:culture:, +10%:science:, +10%:commerce:, +10%:hammers: but also +1:mad: and +20% to crime rate, :yuck: and inflation in all cities due to rampant, unregulated, laissez-faire capitalism. Possible favorite civics (perhaps for different leaders): humanism, republic, liberty. Hated civics: god king, religion, theocracy, caste system, serfdom, slavery. Any version of Mord-Sith-clones using that type of background could only be created by evil leaders due to the manner of their training.

And discussion of entirely new civs should probably be moved to a different thread. ;)

If she wins, this will certainly be made into a gameoption ;)

(especially considering these books seem... huh, not appealing)

Vote Brigit!! but maybe once you free her you get to pick, keep unit? or fund her new nation? and if you pick fund her new nation, you get to decide if you wish to leave your civilization and Join the New Order of Burning Justice. (could be called burning legion I suppose xD, but burning justice, or Wrath of Fire, might work better)

I more thinking to add a gameoption for Brigit. If turned off, you get the hero, if turned on, you get the civ. I'm more willing to use this because it'd be easier to tweak the reqs to free her; such prereqs will be lower if you turn the option on, so the civ can appear in mid game.

And yeah, you'll be able to choose to shift civ.

Good portrait for Bernado, I think. Unfortunately, it's too long to display properly, unless you don't mind a warped portrait a la Kahd.
