If I had seen the original picture before, someone else would have gotten my vote...

Who did you vote for? Well, if you want to share ;)

Seems like Brigit is on her way to win anyway. There's still five days left though. Nothing's done yet, just seems so...

I can't wait to see the results :D

grah! I got sucked into building a leader for a civ which doesn't exist so now I'm building a civilization :mischief: called the D'Haran Empire

I don't think that different fantasy worlds should mix like that. I cannot think of anyway for their back stories to mesh without hurting both. Magic based on 21 spheres and magic based on only 2 (positive or negative, with negative magic being extremely rare) don't seem compatible. I suppose you could argue that The Creator is The One and the Keeper is Agares, but it seems strange for them not to know about the other gods. The idea that males are inherently superior at magic also seems wrong.

I think I too may agree that that first Brigit pic is better than the one used in the game, but if you use it for her leaderhead you should change the hero's popup to match.

Oh, so you meant that the non original picture made you vote for Brigit but if there was the original one, you wouldn't have voted for her? So you prefer the one with the burning banner?

Darken Rahl+Richard Cypher
Opera, Darken is evil and Richard is good, fun combo :mischief:

Shouldn't it be Richard Rahl as the second leader, as he learned that he was Darken Rahl's son before he agreed to take on the role of Lord Rahl so that the power of the Devotion pledge could continue to defend the people from the influence of the Dream Walker Emperor Jagang?

p.s. I've actually only seen Legend of the Seeker television series too, and mostly mostly watched because my sister likes it, but have spent some time on the book's wiki.

So Richard:

Traits: The power of D'Hara: Loyal, Courage, -50% city Maintenance (they all swore Allegiance to Darken/Richard) +1 strength for Melee

I would assume only the Martial devotion to the Rahls as well as the Mord-sith, would be included.

Mord-sith would probably be assasin UU's and capture units as slaves (perhaps with a small chance of capturing the pure unit, aka through command promotions) Mord Sith would probably have better sentry, from the geographical and troop position knowledge gained through torture.

I had no Idea there was already a television series xD ... is it too late to watch it? I only read the first 9 books.

// The Devotion ara was linked to how pure the blood of a D'haran was. Pure blood was generally shown through blond hair and blue eyes, and all Mord-Sith share this quality, as well as having skin tight red-leather, so that the blood from their torture victims does not ruin their look. The Mord-Sith are also all-female, so for now could probably use a re-colored courtisan unit-art (perhaps red around the chest and legs, to represent the leather)

In other aspects, the D'harans are very Bannor like, usually prefering to wear black armor, being highly trained and organized. Essentially, the D'harans are the best fighters in the world (at least melee fighters, which you emphasized in the traits)

As to the civ hero, I think each leader should have Himself as a leader. Richard Rahl would be a Ranger with the sword of truth, which gives +5 first strikes and the blur, haste, and dance of blades abilities. While Lord Rahl (the Father) would be an archmage riding upon a fire drake. Probably 3 movement, 6 str/10 def, potency, and chanelling I-III, as well as having the art of a black-robed archmage riding atop a small red Wyvern.

and by far, the Rahls would definitely have all units start out with the loyalty promotion. Or at least, all units of conventional warfare. Those that may be mercenaries, or of highly diluted blood, may not start with it. Only way I can see of implementing in game would be all melee, archery, and mounted would start with loyalty, while arcane, recon and disciples, perhaps not

EXCEPT the Mord Sith. (Mord Sith would have to have loyalty promo to be at all correct) In fact, due to the Mord-Sith's knowledge of human physiology, they should probably be given not only loyalty, but also medic I. Their extreme devotion would probably also warrant free courage and valor promotion, but to be the only units with this honor.

In all probability, the Mord Sith would probably cause fear among their living enemies. Only those that have not heard of the Mord Sith do not fear them.

//and for something completely different, I vote for the burning Banner picture of Brigit

It is not too late to watch the series. All the first season episodes are available for free online here, as well as on Hulu. Note that from the Hulu comments as well as what I've read on the wiki that the series is only very loosely based on the books.

Shouldn't Mord-Sith also have a huge bonus vs arcane units? I would suggest Magic Immune, it isn't like they are pristinely ungifted, they just turn the magic back on the user. Also, I recall them being able to revive the (recently) dead (at least those they killed), which sounds like more than just medic I.

I'm pretty sure I remember reading on the wiki of some brunette Mord-Sith.

Making the Loyalty promotion their Default Race would probably make more sense and be easier than giving them a trait that applies it to specific unitcombats. I think it would also mean that if one of their leaders had the tolerant trait then units built in cities built by their nations would lack the promotion.
