Wow I had never heard of that. If the Africans can do it, you'd figure South America should give it a shot. It's the African Union
I doubt the other new members, Canada, Mexico, etc, would agree to be marginalized like that...
Slap a Mexican seal in the middle and change the stars to maple leaves.

Oh my god, that was so funny and so wrong! The flag of East Asia should be a picture of Confucius, Mao Zedong, Tojo, and Kim Jong Il working together to strangle a baby girl.
Oops, was that inappropriate?
Hm, wouldn't the Carribean and Central America be consider 'Latin America' with South America? I think for North America the merging of flags would be acceptable considering it would be only 3 countries sharing it.Note that the EU and AU flags do not incoporate flags of its members, so a North American flag would likely not do so either. Of course, a NA flag should also include the Carribbean and Central American countries too.

How aboutHow would you merge them though? They are totally different patterns! Well, Mexico and Canada aren't too different, I guess, but the US totally messes of any merger. We can't pull a UK-style, 'Hey, let's just merge all the crosses together!' thing; we'd have a nasty-looking Christmas checkerboard look going on...
But seriously. It isn't so hard to create a flag incorporating elements from three flags. A leaf, an eagle, some stars, it won't look that bad.Slap a Mexican seal in the middle and change the stars to maple leaves.

Incorporate yes, but I don't see how it could look as a flag in it's own right, as opposed to others slapped together. The UK flag has a nice symmetry about it that makes it merge well. Until I did a little research, I didn't even know it WAS a merging of flags. There are bad ways of merging flags, and and a resident of GA, I am painfully aware of this fact.
The headache is for your lack of creativity/art, not the concept. Pasting the flags on a bigger flag is not what I meant for incorporating an element from each country. By the way, whats with the bottom-right emblem (a clove?)?My 2 cents: it would give a headache.
