Convert to DDS for Win7 (64) ????

Hi,

I'm a total newb to modding, and I'm having a problem converting a LeaderHead picture (jpg) into a DDS file. I have already downloaded DDS Converter 2, DXTBmp, and IrfanView...but none of them can get the job done. Does anyone know of a converter I can use or can Civ4 read any other format, other than DDS for custom LeaderHead and button pictures?

Moderator Action: Moved to the main forum.

Convert the .jpg with IrfanView into .bmp, open it with DXTBmp, save it as .dds.
Be aware, images for leaderheads should AFAIK be 512*512 pixels.

Or try GIMP with dds plugin. See my flag tutorial in the tutorials section, I have links to 2 plugins there.

Or use Paint.NET, which comes with DDS support (so you don't need to add a plugin).

DXTBmp will do it. Just remember that it's not enough to simply have the file be .dds. It needs to conform to specific formatting. The image will need to be saved as DDSDX3 and the size is dependent on what it's for (leaderheads needs to be 384x512 stretched to 512x512, buttons need to be 64x64, etc.).

i use ImageConverter Plus, it works extemely well and it's easy (got Win7 x64)
