Eek and Unalaska, Alaska

These two are Indian or Inuit names, the rest on the list are our own doing. When I lived in Upstate NY I lived near the town of Hunger Mountain (now abandoned, apparently it was hard to get people to move to Hunger Mountain).

I'd have to say:

Humptulips, Washington (Been there. Nothing but a bunch of trailors)

Chilliwack, British Columbia (Canada)

Addis Ababa

Hell, Michigan (Of course)

Walla Walla, Washington

Sofia, capital of Bulgaria.
The most beautiful city name for me.
Also, my childhood love's name is Sofia. Maybe that is why I think this one is the most beautiful one.

I quite like the town of our lady, the queen of the angels, of the small portion and the royal town of the holy faith of St Francis of Asissi. Their original Spanish names sound much better but alas my Spanish is rather poor.

At first I thought you were referring to El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Ángeles de Porciúncula, the original name of Los Angeles.

Mycenae, Ephesus, Halicarnassus. I like the Greeks when it comes to city names.

My family comes from Iloilo (also Iloilo City). I like that one. Also Kandahar and Vijayanagara

Zombieville, home of the necro threads.

More seriously, my city is called Palmdale, notable since there are no palm trees. It was named by some ditz that saw the native joshua trees and thought they were palm trees. A truly auspicious founding with a whimsical aspect that appeals to me.
