Hello all civfanatics.. Took me way to long to get that new graphic card so i could play without any lag. Anyway, tried out at the first two easiest levels. But that was way to easy. So i thought about jumping up one or two levels.

If you check out my saved game and tell me what do to and not do. I Read about city specializations but i think it's hard to just use the cities for science/wealth and so on, but give me some concrete tips about everything you think can be of value.

Make war!
played 10 turns and captured 5 cities from elizabeth. That's without preperation and with yor not to strong army.. so if you build an army you can capture the whole island in something like 25 turns. You're way to small now.

And know the world. You never ever made 1 naval unit till 1800
Other civs on your continent allready found the other 2 continents and their civ's.

So my advice: Make war not love :p

I checked out some of your saved files, and i'm way back in science.. Is it because i have to less cities?

Squad's right on several points. You can go on the war path and face little resistance, especially now with Assembly Line (Infantry).

I think that you're also very well set up for a Space win if you wanted to go for that victory.

Other observations that might be of help;

Workers are railroading between your cities, which is fine if you have a pressing need to move units quickly from one side of your empire to the other. I don't however think this is the case, and I would have them doing one of two things; railroading your mines and lumbermills for an extra :hammers: or hooking up the resources that are within your cultural borders. You have; two Rice, a Copper, two Coal, four Silk, a bananas, a Cow, and a Wheat that aren't hooked up, and yet could be of some use in trade deals.

City placement could be a lot tighter - you could comfortably squeeze in several more cities within your cultural borders.

City builds are a bit all over the place. Certainly I'd not spend time on 'Research' or 'Wealth' builds when there's so many good options available. Think also about what's needed in a city. A couple of examples; the very healthy city of Madrid is building an Aqueduct for instance. Antium, your :gp: farm should have a Grocer to address :yuck:.

Technology advances seem generally good, although I can't quite understand the value in the current pursuit of Medicine. Think about your game objective and direct your technology towards that (unless you have good reason for pursuing Medicine).

Hope these points are of some help. Best of luck. :)

Oh thank you, I recently discovered the button that reveal all the rescourses. And, one more thing, the luxurytrade, what is it's pupuse?

Okay, my idéa here was that i had to use all inside the cross. But i will build more cities.

What options are you consider? Militaryunits? Okay, thank you! Ok! A question regarding the GP. I dont really see it as a farm becasue it takes 100000 turns per GP. Is it really that good when we passed about 5000 gp/points??

Ok! Not any especiall resaon for reseraching that :)

Thanks alot for your tips! :goodjob:

I can't open your save so I may be blundering a bit.

A luxury trade will give an ally a bonus in return for good relations and gold/resources. Each luxury resource boosts either gold or health by 1 (or two with the appropriate building – such as harbour for fish and clams). The same applies to the Ai so don’t trade with someone soon to be your enemy. As you declare war you will suddenly lose the bonus and it can create unhappiness/starvation in your cities.

A city does not need all buildings but see what hasn’t been built and consider it. If you are one or two points away from unhealthiness then build something that boosts your health. Same goes for happiness, in fact if your about to go to war it may be worth building a happiness booster to counter war weariness. Then you are better putting production to military units rather than culture/wealth/research (imitated commerce) unless you are going for a cultural victory, the returns are quite poor.

If you do decide you would rather build culture/wealth/research then consider shifting tile that are worked. A mine producing 4 hammers produce 2 commerce (possibly three or four with forge, factory etc) A cottage can produce around 8 and then gets the usual modifiers taking it up to 12 at an estimate.

If there is nothing you desire to research (there’s usually something until you have all the space ship techs) consider raising gold instead.

I can not go into too much details about GP but generally one city is focused on it and has lots of specialists/wonders. Over time returns reduce so you may want to change it to a production city when state property coems along (I never do but you can).

Hope this helps

Happy to help ... one more question ...

All-righty then ... what victory are you going for?
