Here you go, on a late night UK timetable.

Renata is your host on this expedition into the fjords of Scandinavia, and ainwood is unspoilered and threatening to play it. You have been warned .

Civilization: Scandinavia (Seafaring, Militaristic)
Difficulty: Monarch.
World Size: Standard, Atypical, 80% Water, 3 Billion Years.
Climate: Temperate, normal.
Rivals: 7 pre-selected.
Barbarians: Roaming.

Once you have opened the starting save, please don't post ANY information about this game in ANY thread except the official spoilers. We reserve the right to subject any transgressors to severe and unreasonable penalties. The first spoiler thread will open in a few days time. Meanwhile, if you have any problems please PM me or another member of staff for assistance.

Don't forget to submit your detailed progress to 1000 BC for the QSC before February 22nd. Finished game submissions are due by March 1st. Have fun!

Mmmm, I'm so tempted to reclaim my copy of C3C that I "gifted" away half a year ago. More time on my hands than I expected... ainwood as a competitor... atypical map...

Looks like a fun 1. If I can play every day and finish gotm39, then I may just have to play this one, (Since I became single a couple months ago, this should be easy to do). Love the Vikings and I bet it will be a blast of a game!

I finally have Conquests, and this looks like the perfect excuse to practice early warfare. Maybe I'll actually get up the nerve to try an archer rush this time.

You should review the settings before playing. They are quite different from usual. For example, Show civil disorder popup is OFF.

That's one of the first things one should do with any COTM/GOTM, everyone has different preferences. Personally I don't like 'Always buid last unit' .

Setting the "preferences" to my personal liking is usually the first thing I do when starting a COTM. For some strange reason they are differently set every time...

What a great birthday present! My b-day is the 15th, I've been wanting to play a good seafaring game, and since I'm descended from the kings of Sweden, I get to pull out the family tree to use in constructing my QSC timeline (I tell my timeline as if it were a history of a series of rulers). As soon as I get back from my grandma's funeral this weekend, I'm starting this one up.

Sorry, that's no excuse for ignoring the rules. Other players who have submitted already are able to wait a couple of days.
