I have a feeling that this has been asked before but i was wondering if it was possible to make a follower of this religion to have what ever religion they practiced previously "shown" to the other civs in the game instead of it just being no religion.

It's been asked before, but hasn't been implemented. Such a thing wouldn't be particularly easy to code either, and you'd have to make a whole heap of other changes (such as not being able to see where the Esus holy city is in the religion screen, not telling any other players about either Gibbon or Nox Noctis, hiding Shadowriders).
If there is a modmod that changes that, I do not know of it.
