Do we know if it's released at Steam time or local time?
I think Civ 5 was local time?

Edit:
Here in the Netherlands it says the release date is the 21st, by the way.

The earth is four and a half billion years old (give or take a year or two). Compared with which, two months is a bit of a breeze, don't you think? Just trying to be helpful.

Would The Philippines make sense as a civ? Don't know much about Filipino history, what was there before Spain colonized?

Let me quote a paragraph from Wikipedia summarizing Filipino history after founding cities but before Spanish arrival:

"Eventually various groups developed, separated into hunter-gatherer tribes, warrior societies, petty plutocracies and maritime-oriented harbor principalities which eventually grew into kingdoms, rajahnates, kedatuans, huangdoms and sultanates. These small nations were either greatly influenced by the Indian Hindu religion, language, culture, literature and philosophy from India through many campaigns from India including South-East Asia campaign of Rajendra Chola I, Islam from Arabia or were Sinified tributary states allied to China. The nations included the Indianized Rajahnates of Butuan and Cebu, the dynasty of Tondo, the august kingdoms of Maysapan and Maynila, the Kedatuan of Madja-as, the sinified Huangdom of Ma-i, the Huangdom of Pangasinan as well as the Muslim Sultanates of Sulu, Lanao and Maguindanao. These small maritime states flourished from the 1st millennium. These kingdoms traded with what are now called China, India, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia. The remainder of the settlements were independent barangays allied with one of the larger states."

^This era lasted from 10th to early 16th century so - yes, Philippines have cool history :)
Although I'd put them in after few more 'basic' major civs are in (Mongolia, Persia, Ottomans, Andean civ...)

For me its more like November or December.

Not really a problem, anyway, since I'm still working on a slow domination of the huge earth map as Rome in Civ5. Damn, I gotta make a topic about it someday, game is 4 months old already and I have nearly 50 cities at the moment :)

Yup, there is Tondo Kingdom (Islamic State and control most of Luzon Island), Madja-as Confederation a Naval power in the Archipelago before the colonization of Spain, they even raid Chinese Imperial Shipping and fight off Chinese pirates. Then down south are the Moros, they are like the vikings of Philippines except that they are Muslims; they raid Spanish settlements in North and the only Kingdom in the Philippines that never been conquer by Spain. Hoping for this one day, that one of the civs above could get a spot on CIV series.

Sounds like lot of cool civ concepts, wonder if they world every make any specific of the precolonial Kingdoms/sultanates or just make a blob Philippines civ.

Thanks for some historical info!

The former would be cooler the latter more likely.

Here's a nursery rhyme for the next couple of months ;)

Une journée passée, s'approche, s'approche,
une journée passée, s'approche, s'approche le jour J
