Create your UA (funny)

Moderator Action: This is not the place to discuss the merits of the term "Americans" that is OT, take the conversation there.

(Does anyone have confirmation on what courthouses actually do in Civ 5 by the way?)

OT: They reduce unhappiness in annexed cities.

And now I'll let you return to your regularly scheduled thread.

Please, that doesn't make sense.

Atheism does not cause unhappiness.
No it does cause unhappiness among religious people. 100% people of any country can never be athiests so the people with beliefs about God will hate State Atheism. :p

Greece: Living on tick - Actual deficit spending hasn't negative effects.

Australia: Australian Reference, +25% happiness because all of their citizens think they "own" the word "Australia ". -1 relations with Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, and Indonesia.

Central African Republic and South Africa: African Reference, + 25% health because all of their citizens think they own the word "African". -1 relation with all other African civs.

?!?
Those other countries you mentioned belonged to Oceania, but not Australia. Australia is the only country in Australia. just to be clear.

Australia: Larrikinism. +50% happiness, -25% production :D

France: don't-need-a-porsche. +5 happiness, +10% pop growth with every phallic wonder built

China: "Made in China" - gets a 25% discount on the cost of research pacts when their pact partner is more technologically advanced.

America: "Talk softly, but carry a big stick" - American units in territory belonging to allied City States do not cost upkeep. (Could also be called "The Great White Fleet").

England: "East India Company" - Allied City States can provide trade routes, if connected to the English capital. (I actually really like this one)

France: "Haute Cuisine" - Each unique food resource adds +5 happiness (counts as a luxury resource).

America: "Consumerism" - Receives twice the benefit from "we love the . . . days" when satisfying a city's resource demands. (or it lasts twice as long).

England: "East India Company" - Allied City States can provide trade routes, if connected to the English capital. (I actually really like this one)

Yeah - That's not half bad. I think I'd prefer that to the Sun Never Sets.

The others aren't half bad either.

I'm feeling the Civ V craving strongly today. Probably because it's a 3 day weekend and not long to go until release. I've got to stop reading these forums cause it's making it worse. Back to reading Bernard Cornwell novels for a few weeks.

France - Complacentcy - + 3 Happiness if you lose a war...again.

And if this civ was in the game:

Sweden - Neutrality - +5 Happiness temporarily in all cities every time you refuse to sign a war/emargo pact.

This one too:

Australia - Barbeque Bonanza - + 4 happiness in a city for having the cattle resource nearby.

-edit oh dear, posted on my bro's account, oh deary deary me.

Dutch : Smoke weed every day - +3 Happiness -3 Health

Don't see how smoking weed gives unhealthiness. More people die from falling coconuts every year then people die from smoking cannabis.

Otherwise pretty funny but untrue stereotype. (seeing as a bigger % of people in the UK/US smoke weed)

Russia: -25% culture for cities that have a theatre, but +10% production,+100% corruption,-50% military strength, -50% city growth if you have "Forced Work Camps" built also....but only after "intelligence agency" is active.

America - connect road to Faygo allowing the production of UU, Juggalo* Causes -100% science, +100 pollution - guarantees no other Civ will want to invade your cities.

*must have researched magnetism.

Hey, some of those are actually really good suggestions. You might want to consider posting them in the actual serious thread on this subject :D

I made this account over 3 years ago but never posted anything. And now I saw this thread and couldn't resist. :D

I'm such a tease for creating this thread then...

Good point, I liked the English ability on that, I think I prefer Sun Never Sets though.

lol brilliant stuff guys brilliant stuff.

Sweden - Allied with those sides waging war against each other at the same time without being in war with either itself.

Internet technology - First to discover gains the power of Anon. Consequences unknown.
