CTD Turn 781 Version 1.41

Hey!

I have a problem with my latest game. Don't matter what I do (tried loading an Autosave (five turns before) and played again) the game crashes at turn 781.

Can anybody figure out what's wrong? That would be very kind!

How many civs, what size map, what options due you have activited and types of graphics. These are often the problems.

Also under worldbuilder check if someone in the world is building a wonder, hero, or project that could crash the game.

I'm playing huge and with 17 civs and it doesn't matter if I play with high or low level graphics. OMG, how can I review what opions I'm playing?

I'm researching "Machinery" and getting a great Person in one of my cities (both in the next turn). Does that really cause a crash? I was also looking in the WorldBuilder and just one Civ is finishing "Heroic Epic" (no other Hero or Project, accept mine, but I'm far away of finishing them) but how can I "delete" or change the BuildingList via WB?

Oh, I have an Intel i3, 8GB RAM... don't if that matters (usually I don't have any problems, for example playing C2C an Gigantic with way more civs... )

What can I do to eliminate that crash? I'm a little desperate! :(

My recommendation is never go over standard map with 14 civs. The system gets overloaded. The great person isn't causing it. The complete overload of RAM is. Go in worldbuilder and delete two other civs and it should work. Sorry I've had that same frustration. You can check options under the victory tab. The main screen is vicotory conditions, but on bottom you should be able to click options. It will then be in the middle column.
 
well, if i manage to compile debug dll, i might be able to figure what's wrong
... but no promises :D ... it was some time since i last managed to build the sources :D

edit:
ok, getting CvGameCoreDLL to compile in visual studio 2012 seems to require much more patience than i currently have

If you think construction of one particular building/wonder or training of a particular unit is causing the crash, just delete the city that's doing the building/training in Worldbuilder and then see if the crash still happens.

I was deleting four (!) civs and any "high or suspicious" things (in fact one city that was building "Heroic Epic") and it crashes also... now I'm playing Huge with 9 civs (I'm addicted to larger maps). Has anyone made experiences with that option?

Huge maps should work fine as long as you don't have too many civs. It are the civs that cause the problem because of the massive memory overload. Tell us how it works.

Do I have to start a new game? Or is it compatible?

Because the changes are just to balance it will most likely be compatable as long as you already had Snarko's patch. All my additions do is fix a lot of attitude and strategy problems the AI have in the game that make them very dumb. This should not hurt any game in progress at all, and will only influence the ai in the next turns in the game.
 
I now installed your patch... but it's too early to comment it.

BTW I have the feeling that some things are broken anyway:

Is it possible that, although all requirements are met, you can't build some units or Wonders?

1. The Mage (I have access to Regents and the required Techs): I can't upgrade the Adept to Mage? Am I missing something?

2. Mercurian Gate: I have researched the Tech, but can't build that Wonder. Why?

3. The Refined Mana. I haven't found the Tech "Steam Power" to get Refined Mana.

4. Some button are pink in my game (Cualli Leader, Units and Promotions). Did I something wrong.

Oh, and all those issues have nothing to do with your patch, flame, I had them before adding it.

1 There's a level requirement
2 not sure, but there might be alignment/religious restrictions
3 Try playing as Mechanos
4 You did nothing wrong. Art isn't there. If it bugs you, you could change the XML to point to artwork for other leaders.
 
For 4 you did nothing wrong there are a few Cualli leaders that are missing pictures and I've been to lazy to find them. If you could figure out where they were that would be awesome.

For the Mercurians you have to be good, check that because it works for me. And the level requirment stands for mages. Tell me what you think when you get time.
