I would go for Belgium although I'm really not sure it was an "imperial colonie". Maybe it was just a territory...

(from http://chemsrv0.pph.univie.ac.at/ska/fjl.htm):

Franz Josef Land:

"archipelago located east of Spitzbergen (Svalbard),
with more than 60 mostly ice covered islands (20.000 km²),
uninhabited,
most northern islands of Eurasia,
since 1925 under Soviet, nowadays under Russian government.
Discovered 1873 of the Austrian-Hungarian North Pole expedition under leadership of K. Weyprecht and J. v. Payer and named after the former Austrian emperor Franz-Josef I. Suggestions to name the archipelago Fritjof-Nansen- or Lomonosov-Land were not successful.
The research station of the Austrian Payer-Weyprecht Society is located on Ziegler island."

And was that an Official Colony?

Like Reunion to France or the Falklands to the UK?

Just a guess, without looking in the books:

Isl. Arguin, somewhere in the 1680'ies.
Lüderitz (or Angra Pequena)in Namibia (South-West Africa back then), but that one is just the first in SW-Africa I think.

If I'm right:
Q8: Where did Adolf Hitler build a vacation building, meant for the German people, that is 1-3 km long, and was later used as barracks?

Well, I think it is. Geopgraphy is more than only 'What is the capital of...' (but you know that). This thing has to do with tourism, which is a part of geography as well (just like 'Why does a copany move to Amsterdam instead of Paris). If Andu's question is right, than mine is as well.

Since nobody want to give an answer and I dont know what's the answer, I'll go with a pure guess... Lets say Nuremberg... I hope im lucky...
