I assume 'antarctica proper' is anything south of the 66.5° latitude parallel.

However, I could not find any website originating out of that region itself.

The South or Antarctic ocean/region. South of the Antarctic Convergance, where the South Ocean meets the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans.

The AASTO at the South Pole.

I cant find any active sites from Antarctica directly, just through Australia, NZ and other countries.

I think the code is either aa or ant. I think...

I hate you, Duke of York!!! j/k

Indonesia is the country with the most islands that is entirely composed of islands. The country I am looking for is part of a continent and exceeds that number (13,000) by well over a factor of ten!

Argh! I was about to type in Canada and then the missing webpage/server busy message came on. Oh well ...... :o

Most people in the know believe that Canada most likely does have the most islands, however since they have never bothered to count them (!!!) they must be disqualified. The number of islands the current 'winner' has is 179,584!

Althought the obvious way to get this by cheating is just to type 179,584 islands into a search engine and see what it throws up, I'm going to resist the temptation and try another stab in the dark. I'm not even sure that it's anywhere near, but I think that with all the lakes, Finland could possibly have many many islands too. Although having typed it, I suddenly doubt it. Hohum.

How about the Russian Federation? It has a very long Artic, Baltic and Pacific shoreline and a lot of inland lakes too.
