I'm coming out from my trench with my white handkerchief fluttering on the end of my bayonet. I don't know, and it would appear that no-one else does either. The internet isn't really a lot of use on this so can you please tell us the answer and avoid this great thread steeped in CFC tradition to fall any further down OT.

Slow day at "work", Duke? ;)

The answer is Bolivia.

Good luck with the next question:

What is the capitol of Brazil? (see, Im letting you take over:D )

But why does Bolivia link Portabello mushrooms to Butch and Sundance? I presume that BC&TSD was filmed there, or at least scenes were, but why mushrooms?

I don' t know the answer to your next question though I'm afraid. ;) :p

Portabello is a city in Bolivia.

BC&SK went to Bolivia to escape American lawmen. They continued robbing banks there and were killed by the Bolivian authorities.

I beleve ChrTh has the next question.:D

Yeah, but unless the mushroom are actually named after this city then it's a bit cryptic you have to admit.
There used to be a quiz show on British radio - maybe there still is, I haven't listened in years - and all the questions were cryptic like that, the contestants having to answer them and explain all the cryptic references to get full points. It's called the Brain of Britain quiz and I can't come up with an example question off the top of my head, but I'll look on the net for one and post it here if I find anything. :)

Ok, here's one:

The Nile is one of many rivers that flow North (unlike the alleged only "two", there are several rivers that flow North).

1) Name the river which flows north the second-longest distance (Nile is first).
2) Name the country that contains three of the top four rivers flowing north (in terms of distance)
3) What famous river in Europe flows North for over 800 miles?

Sorry, my dear Duke! (everyones a critic, sheesh! )

ChrTh - You said "Heres one" and asked three!

I will defer to his magnumficence, the Duke.:D

"I have only one question...with 27 parts" -- Back to School

Sorry 'bout that :)

1--either the Ob or the Yenissey in Siberia (don't know which is longer along its course, but the Yenessey seems to have the greater north-south difference although its course isn't as winding)

2--Russia (lots of rivers flow north in Siberia)

3--the Rhine

Am I right?

WHOA! SO CLOSE!

You got the answers to 2 and 3 correct; you also named the other 2 rivers in Russia...but not the correct one ;)

I think you deserve it tho...what do the rest of y'all think?

Ok, Allan, you get to submit the next question.

If no one answers in 24 hours, I'll provide the correct answer :)
