2) What a town to loot! (note this is after Waterloo so from a supposed ally!
3) Tallard and Marsin
4) The city of Trier. Headquarters contacted Patton ordering him to avoid the city which they estimated would need four divisions to take. Patton replied he had taken the city with two divisions, should he give it back?
5) Unfortunately I've mislaid the book that the answer for this was in, so the answer is light on detail. Basically the English and French met to fight a battle during the 100 years war. They lined up opposite eachother, and each waited for the other to attack. After a while a great shout went up from the English line, and believing they were about to advance, the French commander knighted a number of people there and then. Unfortunately the English did not attack, and the day passed without any fighting. The shout from the English had been because a hare had been spotted, and they were eager to shoot it for supper. Those Frenchmen knighted suffered the indignity of being referred to as the order of the Hare afterwards
6) He suggested that throwing his binoculars at the Bismarck might do more damage than the Rodney and King George V could with their main guns!
7) Queen Anne of England (or Britain if you prefer)

9) His wife! George hated Queen Caroline with a passion and the two live apart for many years of the marriage before he became king. He tried continually to deprive her of status and rights and even to divorce her. To do this he had her "tried" before the house of lords on a count of adultery which was eventually dropped. She was denied the right to attend George's coronation and died soon after.
Just shortly before she died, an excited courtier informed George that his greatest enemy had died, he replied "Has she by god?".
The courtier had been talking about Napoleon
