Yup, Hippos are pachyderm. The name derives from the Greek "pachy" which means thick and "derm" of course for skin. This is why pachydermous can relate to a thick-skinned person who is not easily offended.

Check out the local dictionary near you and I'm sure it will say the same.

The woman I was thinking of is in the episode where Moe gets Homer to steal his car and park it on the rail tracks so he can claim the insurance and go away to Hawaii with his new love. Homer instead goes to the drive-in movie and misses the train that was supposed to destroy the car, but manages to put it into the sea just next to the boat where the Police are having a cocktail party for charity. He erm, gets caught and put in jail. But what was the woman's job? She's played by Helen Hunt....

And Mr og, I think that Homer's favorite song is "It's Raining Men", by The Weather Girls. I remember him being distraught in the episode when he gets thrown out of Moe's and has to go to the pilots' bar because his favourite song is taken off the jukebox when he's kicked out. It's the one with Marge's Fear of Flying .
