Memory...straining....
I believe that the inhabitants of the water world were drawing energy off of a containment field device, or something; that long before someone had set up a device in the center of the ocean to keep it contained, but the modern inhabitants were using its energy for something.
Am I at all close?

The containment field weakened....and energy was drawn from the cantainment field to sustain the greater strain on the generator in the middle of the ocean. So your partly right.

But they wern't causing it intentionally.....and it's a side effect of _________ and __________ operations that caused the water to become *___________* which caused the _greater_strain_, and the _weakening_containment_ field.

You got the _stuff_in_here_ right.....and the empty blanks are what needs to be filled in. The *______* is VERY important and what caused the whole thing.

Keep trying. If now one gets it in 2 days I'll give it to you.

Ahhhh....I'll give it to.

What was happening is they were extracting oxygen from the water to breath and also harvesting food. This caused the water to be come denser. This caused the greater strain on the generator.....causing the generator to draw energy from the containment field which weakened it.

Ok FL2....your question. (Although I got a feeling that you just entered in that info because it made sense.

)

We do not doubt you CornMaster but was there a similar episode in STTNG?
We kept getting strong images of Data & Jordie traveling to the
Oceans core to investigate the problem.
Was it Checota in the ship that went to the core?
Sorry we are not trying to ask "a question" but it is haunting us.

Not that I know of. Tom when in the Delta Flyer with another alien and probably Harry. When he attacked the compound it was him and the alien.....

There was a TNG episode whith Jordie and Data prominantly feature involing travel in the atmosphere of a gas giant.

It is a Constution Class starship Named USS Riverside. Not the Enterprise with a different name.
