Current least relevant region of the world?

The Sargasso Sea.

Is actually relevant for science. Apparently also lots of trash accumulates there, therefore probably important in an ecological view.

I think I might go with Western Sahara as well. Nobody cares about the sand there.
Or...uh...some of the countries around there. Not important enough to check the names of them ^^.

Hey, that's not a region. I wish I had my own region.

It's also the least relevant because your most interesting posts are pictures of places that are not your house. I REST MY CASE. :D

Just thinking geopolitically, is North America all that important? I mean, sure, the US government is important, but the actual geographic locality seems pretty unimportant. Probably because it's the least contested swathe of territory due to the strength of the US. Compare it to the South China Sea, for example, where disputes over territory are of high importance, and where countries are really jostling for position. The Philippine government, for example, may not loom large on the international stage, but the Philippines and surrounding areas are certainly a region of huge relevance to the world.

North America is rendered less important by the fact that the US projects power everywhere in the world. We should stop diluting our awesomeness.

"Anything west of interstate 95, unless we're writing an article making fun of 'rednecks'"--Most US based media companies, probably.

I believe it.

Lovecraft's grave is about a mile, maybe less, east of I-95, so I guess this bears out given no one cares about Providence but for Lovecraft.
