While I'm sure most, if not all of these bugs have been posted here already, I want to put together a post / thread of all bugs we've found so far, from little to game breaking. I love this game, but it's so annoying to have to alt-tab away and back every 5 turns because of framerate issues, so here I go, please fix these!
My computer:
Athlon 64 3200 (2.2GHz)
1 GB DDR Dual Channel
256MB GeForce 6800 GT
SATA II 160 GB HD
nForce 4 Ultra chipset using onboard AC97 Audio
System bugs:
Framerate issues / Memory leaks:
After every 5 or so turns, or after nearly every video, I have to alt-tab away from the game and back as my frame-rate drops to sub-20 levels. It also bugs me that the game seems to be limited to 30 FPS but occasionally I get the spike to 60 or so. When I do alt-tab, Task Manager shows the game using up 500+ MB of my memory, and it grows continuously. Oh yeah, and globe view on a huge map fully explored is never above 5 fps.
Sound Choppiness:
The sound for the movies are extremely choppy most of the time. There is no HD activity for me so it's not page faulting.
Graphical glitches:
Seemingly related to Anti-aliasing, though not exclusively, I get serious texture stretching on my minimap and on the globe view. Not sure how to reproduce it, but it definitely happens most often during alt-tabbing or in changing the AA level.
Game bugs:
Just a couple of small gameplay bugs I've noticed so far.
1) No progress screen for your spaceship
2) When you win and continue playing, the turn countdown and the "Name as won by method" text stays
3) ICBMs don't fire! I click the red button, I click a destination, nothing.
Honestly, how did these bugs get past QA? Please fix these problems! I've got the normal expected hardware of today's gamer computer, so you can't blame these problems on "unable to test every hardware configuration." I'm quite dissapointed. The game is fun, but definitely feels rushed.
