I have the same experience. I have the feeling that these custom avatars are creating a number of problems.

I had problems too. I closed all the way out and could never get back into the forums but now is all okay. Stupid avatars did this didn't they!!!?

Yep its okay for me now as well, but for a few minutes I thought the forums were going to be down for awhile and when they came back custom avators would be gone

65 pixels is a tad too small, in my opinion.

It took me the seeing of about 3 custom avatars to find the option to turn them off Site runs faster than ever now.

Well..It's an optimistic one! If TF hadn't allowed custom avatars I would've never turned them off then the site wouldn't run so fast! A blessing in disguise! Thanks for all the ugliness TF!!!!

Finally I would prefer not having custom avatars actually. Yes I know I've been fighting hard in the past to get that right but for a while, I changed my mind... Bad idea. Hope the boss will remove that withing several months
