"Cyclic Redundancy Check"

I have been trying to install civ 3 for days now, and it wont work ='(.
Ive been trying both options (typical and minimal) and i get the same message: ("cyclic redundancy check"). Ive made it to 35% at max before it just stops...Im becoming frustrated with this cause i just wanna play the game. If you have any possible solution, please let me know!

Most likely, your disks are corrupted. If any method stops at the same spot during installation and you get that error, it means that some files on the CD or even the disk itself (physically) is damaged. I don't think there's anything you can do about it other than taking the disk to where you bought it from, and telling them it's defective and you want a new copy.

Try cleaning the disks under cold water with those glasses cloths. That worked for me when the Horseman files wouldn't work. Clean from the center out (use strokes that go along the lines of symmetry).
