It turned out it was the mushrooms i was growing..

the compost was perfect for the little buggers- once i got rid of it, the flies soon died off.

I had fruit flies over summer - they were real pests. I had to remove everything from the cupboards and bleach the whole room to kill their eggs.

Low level nuke airburst should do the trick.

Go to a garden shop and look for stuff that kills vine weevil and the like. It's an insecticide designed to be adding to added to soil to kill pests. Works a treat.

I have flies and long leg mosquitos constantly flying into my room during the summer somehow. What I do to get rid of them is to take a tissue and catch them with my hand. Sometimes I'll accidentily squish them, which is why I have the tissue to keep their stuff off my hand and wipe off the surface I squished them on.

YES, now i NEED fruit flys! I plan to get a pigmy charmlion.. and initially they can't eat things much bigger than fruit flys.
