Fyrdmen is also a great name, but a think that was what the English and Saxon kings and War Lords called their "Standart soldiers". Medium footsoldiers armed with spears, how was the backbone of the army, back up by the Kings/ Warlord proffesional soldiers.

You're right that "fyrd" is the name of the Saxon version of "leding". Maybe the word "Ledingsman" is not that bad? I will think about it...

If only I knew. I once saw something that somebody had written: That everybody is always "making a mod" and that nobody has actually "made a mod". The expression only exists in the present tense. A mod is never really "finished". Even though GD-DD has been playable for months, it still needs those last finishing touches before it is readt to be uploaded. And even then there would still be lots of things that could be changed and improved. But I have to stop sooner or later, so I have made a list of those things that need to be done. Here is a shortened version of the list:
- make sure that all really famous and important Danes are in the mod. I have already found a few that I will need to think of a way to add (Grundtvig, PH, Søren Kierkegaard)
- change a few of the civ strength of the different tribes (make more civs agricultural or seafaring)
- make leaderhead graphics
- make advisor graphics
- make Welfare Victory graphics
- minor graphics changes and other minor changes
And how long is that going to take me? I simply don't know...

The reson i asked is because i am, almost dying for the "final mod ". I have read almost all of the 13 page of comments, and i think that the mod soundes very good.

I think that "Ledingsman" would work better. But that is up to you

After thinking about it, I think i prefer Ledingsman, too.
I just tested the Snaphane. I thought that invisible units would become visible if they attacked, but it looks like they stay invisible. That's not good. One way of solving this problem is to let some units be able to detect invisible (I think we talked about this before...). But I think that those units would also be able to detect Submarines (which are also invisible) - and that's very bad. Maybe I could give the Snaphane the Stealth ability instead, but I'm not sure what it does. Does anybody know exactly how Stealth works?

edit: I just read the wikipedia article about leding again - and I discovered that I have made a mistake. In scandinavia, leding was only used to organize the navy. It was only in England that it was used to organize the defensive forces of the country. So the unit that I planned to call Ledingsman is now going to get a more unimaginative - but also more correct - name: Heavy Spearman. If any of you has any other ideas, please let me know.

Insted of Calling them Heavy spearmen you could call them
Armoured Spearmen or maybe Joms Vikings , afther the great legend about thouse formidable Warrious


I don't have mutch experience with Stealth units, so i don't really how it exactly works.

Actually the Jomsvikings were mostly offensive soliders (a little like a pagan version of a crusaging order). But maybe there is another way of including them...???
Maybe I should just test what the Stealth ability does myself....

About N.F.S. Gruntvig. What about making a wonder. In the years 1921 - 1940 a church was made to his honore. It is callt "Gruntvig memorial church."
It could make a fine wonder.

Or you could make a chance that you will rescive a "Cultural Leader" when you finish a great cultural wonder. This cultural leader could then be used to hurry a produktion or creating an age of culture were all cathedrals produce twise as much culture.
Then you could use Gruntvig as one of the cultural leaders, and you could do the same with all the odder famous danish caracters witch you do not no what to do with.

Sounds like a good idea... I will have to do some research first, of course.

It is a very good idea - but unfortunately it is also impossible. The editor doesn't allow such things to be done. But it sounds like something that could maybe be possible in Civilization IV. So remind me about this idea, when/if I start making a CivIV version of this mod.

A little idea for including Jomsvikings in your mode :

An offensive Jomsviking unite could be made as a special infantry unit, that would become available with Iron Working our Foreign Conquest.

The Jomsviking should be an extreme offensive unite, with the ability to attack 2 times, and have the ability to attack from ships( can't remember what its called )

Only one tribe, at a time, should be able to train the Jomsviking unite, like the Crusader unite in CIV III Conquests.
The Jomsviking should be come available when a special wonder is bullied. Maybe a wonder over the City of Joms, our a Pagan shine with symbolises the Jomsvikings. The wonder should then produce a Jomsviking unite every 3 turns or so, and the wonder should be able to start a Golden Age for tribes with the CIV strength: military .
The wonder should Stop producing Jomsviking when Papal Church or Christianity is explored.

Abefar: The stats of the Heavy Spearman is 1.2.1+0HP (Spearman is 1.2.1-1HP, Pikeman is 1.3.1+0HP)

Here is a small preview of the new Welfare Victory graphics (the size of the image was reduced to 60% of the original to make it small enough to download). Not all of the graphics are very good, I'm afraid. But if you have some graphics or ideas to replace these, please tell me.
Here are some details about the graphics:
1: Education, requires University (the library at Skive Gymnasium)
2: Healthcare, requires Hospitals (Skive Sygehus)
3: Environment, requires Recycling Centers (Skjern Ådal)
4: Entertainment, requires Football Stadiums (some random roligans... notice the text "hvor vi fra" )
5: Production Sector, requires Production Plants (Dantherm, north of Skive)
6: Medical Sector, requires Research Labs (the HQ of Novo Nordisk)
7: IT Sector, requires IT Companies (some guy working at IO Interactive posted a picture of his office on some web page... I "borrowed" it and added some concept art and a screenshot from Hitman and Freedom Fighters)

No, it's not a coincidence. But actually it's only 3/10 that are from Skive (education, healthcare, production sector), so I wouldn't say "almost all of". But there is a certain tendency to Skive-centricism (is that a word?). Why do you think Skive has been a capital city for so many versions, while Viborg has not? (though they do have their own civ in the next version... that actually makes playing as Salling quite difficult)

I think you misunderstood me. It was meant as a Joke, (beacuse i could see in your name that you came from Skrive), and not as Skive-centricism
