 Ok. It's the year 1885. I've mobilized my army with WWII style tanks. This after laying waste to India for their audacity in thinking they could threaten Mighty Israel and it's large army of cavalry, cannon, and infantry. The Greeks, far across the ocean, felt compelled to join their Indian brethren for a small bribe. Join them they did. Pretty soon, as the Greeks came to realize their demise, the Persians (idiots) had come to fear the Hebrew army and thought a sneak attack would be the most prudent way of showing their displeasure. Needless to say, the Israelites were not intimidated by the 8 unit (7 fighting, 1 settler) army that appeared on the Eastern shores. The Persians travelled for months to reach our banks, but in less than a week only the settlers remained, and they were quickly ushered into the Stelar Dyes metropolis where they were treated with the finest luxuries. Israel was on the verge of world domination. Recognizing the strength of their army, Jews all across the world (for I now controlled two continents) called for Unification of all people under the Lord our God. The King was most happy to oblige.

It was one of my best games. Definately my best as far as the "score" was concerned, but when I looked down one day (about three weeks ago) I found, to my utter horror) that my Civilization CD had been broken in two underneath the wheel of my computer chair. I've always stored in the little compartment on top of my computer, where the startup disc is supposed to go, because it's my favorite game. It was not the case this day.
I was going to buy the expansion pack, but I have a hard time paying more than 20 dolla for a game (Civ III was originally a gift from my dad years ago), so I was thinking of putting it off until my birthday (1 month and 20 days away). Until then I have decided to check on the forums here at Civ fanatic.

Aww, that just sucks, mate. Feel sorry for you. But I recommend you to browse this site and spend a lot of time reading the articles in the Strategy and Tips-forum while you're waiting to get a new copy. It's most certainly worth it - you can pick up some quite nice tricks that will improve your civ III experience once you get another copy.

...and not just Civ tips! Here i am, totally PC literate, with 8 years of internet experience, and i never knew that windowskey+D returned you to desktop.

I win. :king:
