Definitive 'primarily known for one song' band?

I may gave been listening to Shakespeare's Eister and AAF recently. Abd not those videes posted;).
. I remember the voters songs lol.

Another Danish one-hit band that for some reason caught on when released.

I've seen their set live here at a music festival, but can't remember a thing about their performance

Also, this:

Eisenfunk's Pong: reading thru the Youtube comments I saw "I love the deepness behind the meaning of the lyrics".

Your search up Alien Ant Farm, and the first thing that comes up is this song

^^^ I realize that is the bigger overall hit, but this is the song I remember from them and actually liked :

Lots of songs here I've never even heard of. One person's "hit" is another person's "hunh?", I guess.

Some other favorite One-Hit Wonders of mine. I still listen to these once in a while.

"Groove is in the Heart" (1990) by Deee-Lite

"Return of the Mack" (1996) by Mark Morrison

"Steal my Sunshine" (1999) by Len

I could probably make a decent-length playlist just of one-hit wonders from the '80s. If you enjoy good bass playing, I recommend checking out these two songs. As above, these are songs I still listen to from time to time.

"Too Shy" (1983) by Kajagoogoo

and "Something About You" (1985) by Level 42

This guy did a breakdown of the bassline of "Too Shy" just last year.

It's more of a "band most known for just one song" rather than "one-hit wonder" thread.

Yeah a lot of these bands are do have other hits.

Some songs also charted differently as well. Number 1 or top 5 in Australasia/UK top 40 USA.

Or did better in Europe etc.

That's also a good one-hit wonder, though. I, at least, don't know anything else by Deep Purple.
Space Truckin.
(I've got the Deep Purple Made in Japan (double album), and 1 entire side is that song)

Made in Japan (wiki)
song list is in there.

HeuyLewis had some other good songs, so is disqualified.

Zager and Evans: In the year 2525

(it came out in '69, so looong before most of you were born. (or your parents) :P

@EgonSpengler I was going to go with Too Shy also. Written and produced by Duran Duran's synth player Nick Rhodes, it managed to keep one of Duran Duran's own songs out of the #1 slot.

@Kyriakos I will accept no hate toward Soft Cell or Marc Almond!

Hmmm, I might also go for Echo and the Bunnymen, Killing Moon.
(Mainly because it just popped up in my feed!)
