Democracy Succession Game

I vote for bewareofgnomes. BOG and despot have already voted, so the score is:
Despot: 1
BOG: 3 (assuming that Lord all Mighty was voting for bewareofgnomes)

If I did my votes correctly, BOG is the winner of this election. Noldodan may still vote, but 3 votes out of 5 is an unbeatable majority. BOG, you have 24 hours to play this game and post a savegame and a summary or turn log. You may play up to 20 turns. Congratulations! [party]

Note: Please tell me if I made a mistake in this.

Preturn - looks like a nice city spot. To BG and 2 wines.

4000 BC - Persopolis. There is an ocean 3 tiles away and a game that will be within city radius. Pottery in 12

3450 BC - Finish pottery, set to alphabet, due in 20. Start on granry, due in 12

2950 BC - Contact American scout. We are at tech parity. Tried to purchase worker, but he wouldnt accept anything. Settler in 6

2900 BC - contact zulu. They have cerimonial burial and WC. Will trade when alphabet comes in.

2670 BC - trade for all of zulus techs plus 10 gold for alphabet. Get 30 gold from abe. Writing due in 28.

This is a good stopping point. I was aiming for 40 turns, but I really have no idea. Thinking that next city should be close to the fish to our NE. We have LOTS of room to expand, and LOTS of jungle. Persopolis should be a great settler factory, having a 4 food tile and 5 spt. Were going to need a good worker factory, and I have found jungle cities to be great since they can rarely grow beyond size 2. I havent even seen the zulu or american territory. No research into writing yet, so feel free to change it. Settler due in one.

whos next?

i guess we hold an election. i nominate despot if it is time.

Nominations may begin, and despot's already been nominated! The elections start when two people have accepted nominations, just like last time. In the future, we will only play for 20 turns.

gnomes, I briefly looked at the save...I'm thinking our next city should be placed to the NE. It looks like there might be some fertile land up there and less disease ridden jungle. If we stay to the north we could use the jungle/mountain to the south as a natural barrier between us and our enemies. Also most of the exploration has been to the south at this point which leads me to believe that most likely the Zulu's and American's are down that way. What do you guys think?

I nominate nolodan.

And my name is spelled incorrectly AGAIN! YES! But on a serious note, I accept my nomination.

I guess it doesn't matter that I was going to vote for Noldodan.

Well I'll get to the game probably later tonight.
