Octavian X - If Mr. EvilMod was a workaholic who started discussions and ran valid, complete polls, I wouldn't object. Let's get some Leadership and drive into the demogame.
Sorry, Octavian. The notion of a berserker Mod on the loose in the Demogame doesn't bother me as much as the thought of the directionless, wandering of the citizens.
I think Bills proposal with the donsig-enhancements is great. Exactly what i expected to be put up
But to maybe gain a concensus maybe something along the following line would be good:
All Moderator actions taken in the demogame forum have to be entered in a "forum-logfile" (with moderator, link, changedescription and date) which must be publically accessable (maybe post1 of the needed-thread?).
On request of any citizen, a independent, non-citizen forum moderator can review a suspicious activity (maybe a altered poll etc.) whether the modding was reflected in the logfile?
Btw:
Nobody of us would be able to proove a "cheating" moderator. If we have a rule for it or not. And i believe if we would catch a mod cheating and inform TF, the mod would not be mod for long after
Octavian - That would be very easy for TF to detect as the poll tally and voters' IP tally would be off, showing that a moderator added votes.
disorganizer - No way. 1st, it's additional work. 2nd, changes are done by request of the citizens so if anybody is interested all they need to do is subscribe to Needed Things. 3rd, other mods do not have the ability to check on anything in our forum. 4th, moderator actions are already tracked and recorded in background fields of each thread. 5th, CivFanatics rules (including moderator powers and their use) supercede demogame rules.
To Octavian's point - I think that if truely got saddled with an evil Mod, then it would be the end of the demo game no matter what the rule set was.
There would just be no way people would believe that the Mod isn't up to something.
For all - The wording as is now seems to have general consensus overall. Therefore I will take it to poll once we have met the discussion time requirement (assuming no other ideas come in).
With luck, this measure will pass in time for nominations.
I find that the proposed change as written does not conflict with the Constitution, Code of Laws, or Code of Standards. As such, it should allowed to take effect should it pass polling.
