I love that. The paradox of the information age: to suffer equal hearing of the opinions of misinformed and misled people.

Since when do we have Sirian in our team? :)
We don't but I think most everyone relates to Sirian some way or another. Better to be lucky than good and all (tm).

Happy 469th turn everyone! LOL!

Well... we don't... but we can learn three things from him:
  1. Playing focused pays off.
  2. Pink is a perilous color.
  3. Sometime it really is better to be lucky than good. :king:

Sorry for the double-post, but I decided to put this here rather than spam up the Diplo for MIA thread. Tubby's quote here was posted in that thread.

SoZ was altered for this game... not sure how
Grahamiam might be able to shed some light on this. He has modified the SoZ before. Here's what it did the first time we tested it:

here is the poll for the SoZ decision

The way I feel about scientific great leaders is the same way I feel about the Statue of Zeus. However, in this game, the possibility of only one team being able to build it because of the clumpage of ivory is unfair. Giving everyone access to ivory is giving everyone a free luxury, and you guys can't have it that easy. Thus, the Statue of Zeus will be allowed, but there will be no ivory requirement.

Now, by doing this, there is no special requirement for this powerful wonder. This wonder would be given on a "first come, first serve" basis. However, upping the shield cost will make a team really think it over whether they want to risk so many shields. This wonder will cost 300 shields.

EDIT :: Rik made the map. He's done a few in the past and I feel comfortable that he won't screw it up.

As Tubby has said, there weren't major changes. I have rechecked the .biq:

1) SoZ costs 300 shields.
2) SoZ still produces ACs every 5 turns.
3) SoZ does not require Ivory.

BB, I take comfort from that sage for the ages, Abraham Simpson...

Abe - "What are you kids doing?"

Homer - "It's called rockin' out man."

Barney - "Yeah!"

Abe - "Well it looks like you fools are havin' a sizure."

Homer - "You don't understnad Dad, you're not with 'it.'"

Abe - "I used to be with 'it'. Then they changed what 'it' is and now what I'm with isn't 'it' and what's 'it' is strange and scary to me. It'll happen to you!"

He'll get his BB, don't worry...

FYI::: As of the end of turn 83, we have all 5 native luxes connected. Republic will be in next turn.. I'd suggest that the conversations with MIA commence about what is to take place during the trade.
