Department of General Musings

How about Chuck-a-lie-ya Norris, Chuckster Norris, Mr. Chas. Norris I, II, III, Sir Chuckie B.A. Norris.....etc.

I still want a Bruce Lee. He could make this Norris guy cry tears and cure cancer once and for all. :p

even if we name all of them Bruce Lee, we wouldn't stand a chance against Chuck Norris. But we still might be able to take down Chuck Norrisville. Although Chuck Norris might come back to haunt us with a round house kick in our RNG.

I know we are considering a war agains MIA, but I believe there are better targets out there, like This guy. (hint: check his sig).

Edit: And he's even a US marine ... how many GS's do we need for one marine?

I've been off-line so I'm late to the debate, but we could always name the GS "Walker Texas Ranger."

Besides, I'm not so sure that some other 'B' action movie actors wouldn't give Chuck a run for his money.

To wit...
Steven Segal
Charles Bronson (has the added benefit of 'Chuck')
Jackie Chan
Rutger Hauer
Jean-Claude van Dam

Or, we could trump them and go 'A' list...
Arnold
Bruce Willis
Clint Eastwood
Mel Gibson

Or, go with Mythological charachters - the literary references alone could give Chuck an aneurism...
Loki
Fafner und Fasolt
Gilgamesh
Jason (of Argonot fame)
Hercules
Thor/Donner
Achileis
Ajax
Wotan
Zeus
Ares

Either 'A' or 'B,' I don't think that even Chuck Norris could stand up against the combined powers of Hollywood glitz.

I think we can take 'em.

GUYS and GRAMMA WE'VE BEEN HAD!!!!

D'nuts need to be contacted and then we should keep things going. TNT's requests for peace is out of fear of WW IMO. We ought to tell them of the MIA-TNT alliance to leave us behind. 2 on 2 is possible. 3 on 1 is near suicide

on the bright side, Construction dropped 70 beakers this turn. We can get it in 7 turns.

FYI, AK will be giving his fingers a rest for a few days. Apparently the [civ4] demogame was more than he could handle over the weekend.

:gripe:

What the hey are those guys up to? Try to hold out on us then trade out the good stuff to the bogies.

Boots and saddles plays in the background. <war horns>

Bede, time for some beer and whiskey. We need to make an alliance with donuts and take it to MIA.

I noticed on Tubby's To Do List that we are one turn away from our declaration.

We should be prepared for a preemptive strike after the declaration. That's what I would do if I were them.

we should have gallics near both cities at the end of this turn and the declaration should definately come after they send the save to us

Considering that Hoplites cost only half of GS, I'd rather produce tons of them while waiting for us to attack.

But I agree with your point, we should have GS near the border anyway.

I'd like to ask 4 questions:

- Can we know if forests are being planted atm?

- How would WE defend against a stack of 3-2-2 mother tuckers

- We've seen a horse of late. They were weak. They pop-rushed themselves to on-par military with us. Could it be that they started more seriously to build swords or did they achieve it with just horses?

- Does anyone know Chamnix' stance on the eternal horses vs swords deal?

I don't think it would affect our main swashbuckling strategy, but it could affect scouting: if they have horses, no scouts for us, but easier pickings on the offense; if they have swords, we could sometimes afford a point scout before the stacks, just to know.

my .02:
1- Map the whole Rik and check out every other turn.
2- I would mass catapults and swords, with some hops, and try for as many "opportunity attacks" as possible. A few horses to nitpick the pesky retreatees. even if uncovered or weakly so, the horses lost are well worth the GS killed.
3- I think they'll have mixed stuff, with horses to pick out 1-2HP stuff so it doesn't retreat, and swords to do frontal attacks. Plus, going back on par with just horses sounds unlikely.

In case anyone only uses their subscriptions to keep up with what's going on. Apparently we violated a rule. Here is the admin ruling.

Now we can walk through their territory unharmed until turn 104

General W has been posting a newspaper from MIA. It's interesting stuff. Most of it is just propaganda but there is stuff that can be gleaned from his musings. I just found it and have subscribed to it.
