Civ4 MTDG
I'd like to join with an intact team as well, but holding the position of Chief Cheerleader and CookieBaker, since I rarely play Civ4. Is being an Idiot qualification enough?

I hope it is; if you need the actual game, I'd be disqualified.

my .02:
1- Map the whole Rik and check out every other turn.
2- I would mass catapults and swords, with some hops, and try for as many "opportunity attacks" as possible. A few horses to nitpick the pesky retreatees. even if uncovered or weakly so, the horses lost are well worth the GS killed.
3- I think they'll have mixed stuff, with horses to pick out 1-2HP stuff so it doesn't retreat, and swords to do frontal attacks. Plus, going back on par with just horses sounds unlikely.
Considering their alliance with TNT, both being sci, I say there's a ~66% risk those swords are MI's and the hoppies are pikes. That's one reason we should be careful about the timing of the attack. My view is that we probably will get our FP before MIA do so we will soon have better production. Let's get the FP up and the surrounding area calibrated for unit prod, the we hit. It will dealy the attack, but we could time it with going 3/4 speed to Feud and do some spears for upgrading. IIRC GS's are upped for nothing :D.

GS's are upped for nothing indeed.
The chances of neither of them having Feudalism free is 45%, which isn't to be left aside. There's only 1/3 chance that they got the same tech, but considering MIA's supposed (diplo-patched phone game) fear of us, I think the odds are we're looking at the 45% chance they don't have Feudalism - if they packed Mono+Feud, I doubt there would be any signs of fear.

Um, unless they are feigning fear to make us let down our guard. :hmm:

Maybe they're trying to make us think they're pretending to be afraid ... Or just trying to confuse us :)

MIA has no reason to be afraid. They have MDI and hoplites. They would slowly roll right over us in a war. We need to make a beeline to cavalry.

Bugsy may be right, althought there is a possibility that MIAs 'averageness' compared to us is only due to some rushing. Their cities are small and cannot produce reinforcements very quickly. That's why I still feel it might be worth a shot.

I would like this explained a wee bit more since it turns our whole plan, as I've understood it, upside down. What is it with all the "move all GS's to EWR" if we're not going to attack until cavs? When did it become so obvious that we cannot attack on 104? Is it that we couldn't get round the 10 turn notice? I'm very confused by Bugsy's post to say the least.

Someone (I don't remember and am too lazy to look it up) noted that MIA has MDI according to the Military Advisor. Since then we seem to be re-thinking the war. If there is no war, then the GS in EWR won't hurt or help. If there is war, we need them at the front lines.

So until I hear otherwise the GS need to be moving that direction. Although it might be good to keep the next couple in the core for defense from whatever is in those galleys.

Also, TNT have suffered the first city loss in this game. If D'nut can take care of TNT, then it will be a 2 on 1 unless MIA uses their tech advantage to buy out D'nut. We just have to convince the nutters that that would suck to deprive the world of idiocy ;) .

Since MIA has MI I think it would be in our best interest to make a few cats. The only edge we'd have in a fight against a "4" attack and "3" defend unit is bombing them with cats. It would take 2 GS and possibly 3 for every MI/Hop combo coming our way. This war likely needs to be delayed unit we get some MI on the board.

Just a quick question..... off topic.

Should we be considering a Great Library build in Polecat instead of the FP? We could be stockpiling money for rushing. That way the two nerd civs can research their little hearts out and then we could benefit from their traits.

If we go this way we do need to be more docile IMO.

If we do this we should let Donut know our intentions. We don't want any surprises. I think we could tell them to turn off research and we'd share the techs and they'd share their (what 50-60% of thier gold?). How many shields are in the bin?

CA II says 137 shields in the bin, 7 shields/turn at 33 % waste. A long way from the 400 required.

If we take along cats, we should upgrade almost all the GS since the extra movement point will become useless. Well, the retreating ability is nice, so not completely useless I guess.

I want to stress again, MIA's population and infrastructure is probably not up to speed to handle us right now.
